But am I also allowed to be slightly more worried about the safety and well-being of my non-white friends and relatives who have to deal with the potential dangers of negative perceptions regarding their complexions that put them at risk every single day from people and from the police - am I allowed to be a little more concerned about them than I am worried about the safety and well-being of folks who at the very least have the benefit of white privilege working in their favor to garner them greater safety and just treatment?
