Girls ID Season 26/27 Thread

Not much turnout from outside surprisingly. The outside players that transferred mid season were there among a lot of 2011s who are probably dropping. That is the VDA roster for 2026/27. The rest was just a show and the whole tryout was kickball and unnecessary dribbling( basically keep dribbling until you lose the ball) Wonder if that is how the teams play.

Looking at the team bags in attendance that style of play will likely produce better results than whatever your current team can muster. Which is why you were there.

Nope. Not everyone who was there is desperate. Are you familiar with window shopping?

Oh you mean wasting your time standing around in the rain watching a team you won’t play for? Got it. That’s dumb.

Investigating other teams is never dumb. Rain or shine.

They seem more focused on constantly recruiting new players than developing the ones they already have, which raises serious concerns about their confidence in their coaching and player development.

Rosters for all ECNL clubs are available on the website. It’s not a secret.

They are not “trapped” — they are not in the 2030 grad year and are not 8th graders. ECNL is not going by graduation year but by Aug 1 - July 31. Current VDA 2011s have like 8-10 players who are born August 2011-December 2011 and so they’re likely moving “down.”

It is almost like this is not about the girls development but the coach W and trophy chasing. A true ECNL Girls Director would put kids in their recruitment year and brave parents would band together to push for that
but its the same all around. Its hitting that club the hardest because those parents did band together to get there. From the sounds of it that is going to be the team to watch next season. Not sure how other clubs will feel about it. Maybe they will email us soccer after losing 5-0/10-0 etc etc.

Same for the 13s if the chatter is right. Maybe a changing of the guard for the younger teams.

not much turnout = no arl bags

Its ok to say it. Those girls most likely were extended offers and didn’t have to show up.

The rest of the observation seems harsh. That team will be an interesting team if some players decide not to come down

The whole 11s moved down yesterday. The poor younger 12s got annihilated. If your are a 12 arriving at the tryouts, you would think you are in the wrong session LOL

The narrative of “did not have to show up” is wrong because the known outside players who joined were there. Only Arl bags are then exempt ones?

Can you define “true ECNL director”? I’m new here.

Band together and threaten to do what exactly? Move to a GA team? Lol. Not happening. There are only three ECNL clubs here and one (FVU) is a joke. We parents have zero leverage. Not to mention that the coach actually gets results in recruiting… Things will work out just fine. It’s been made clear that parent tantrums will not be tolerated which I as a parent appreciate! No favoritism to the loudest mouth.
viva la carpools!!! Parents could have a carpool strike. That would show em.
