Can't he just resign as US Attorney? I thought the rule was that you can't serve in both executive and legislative branches at the same time. Is there some rule you can't also be a candidate? |
Yes, there is a rule that you cannot be a candidate. But the GOP doesn't believe in rules or laws, so unless someone sues, he will just be a US Attorney who is breaking the law. |
If he signed up as a candidate while he was a political appointee of the administration he’s just as ineligible as if he was only 27 years old and shouldn’t be able to be on the ballot. |
| Trump is poised to endorse Cornyn for the Texas seat and Paxton says he will only get out if the Senate breaks the filibuster and passes the SAVE act. |
|
So how about Steve Daines announcing he's quitting, just minutes before the filing deadline, to keep Jon Tester from going after his seat?
https://montanafreepress.org/2026/03/04/republican-u-s-senate-steve-daines-withdraws/ What a coward move! Coward move x2 - one for dropping out, two for trying to hand his seat off to a fellow Republican and keep the Dem out. Senate Republicans are RUNNING SCARED! |

Talarico is going to need to campaign with her and speak to her voters. Still might not be enough, but they are young and can keep working on it. |
Yes. The prediction is that if Cornyn is the candidate he will win. |
Tester denies that he was ever going to run. |
Alme resigned as US Attorney right before signing up as a candidate. |

I don’t think you know enough on this. Many people loved both candidates, but they had to choose so they went with whoever they felt spoke to them the most. Democrats in Texas are fired up and there’s no way they’re sitting this out. |
| PP the online rhetoric does not match what is going on the ground in Texas. I’m not in Texas, but work with down ballot candidates running in Texas this year. |
Great to hear. You're right, I don't know, so yes, I am glad to hear that the Dems and hopefully Independents as well are fired up and ready to vote. |
