Senator Steve Daines of Montana, an influential Republican, decided not to run for re-election on Wednesday, a surprise decision he said he had been “wrestling with" for months. The announcement could provide Democrats with a long-shot opportunity to flip a seat as they aim to retake the Senate in November. Mr. Daines made the announcement just minutes before the filing deadline closed for November’s election, saying that it was time for “new leaders” to fight for his state in the Senate. His withdrawal came as Kurt Alme, the U.S. attorney for Montana, entered the race — and received Mr. Daines’s endorsement. |
| Well I’m sure all our resident MAGAs will be here shortly to express their outrage because they are always so consistent and never hypocrites. |

Diane’s sees the writing on the wall, especially after his colleague broke a marines arm. Democrats would be wise to get behind the Independent. Until Dems can improve their brand (start by getting rid of Schumer and Jefferies) we are better off backing I’s in these deep red states. Voters want an alternative! |
They tried that in Utah for the 2022 election against Mike Lee. It was a good idea but still didn't work. |
