I think we’re forgetting that women, particularly white women, have benefited the most from affirmative action. In fact, women now outnumber men in higher education. This is opening the door for the SC to go after women as well as minorities. |
Then why such anger? You raise your kids based on what you think is important, and let others do what they want. Why do you need to enter race into the equation? I guarantee you, Asians don't all think alike and agree on how to raise their children. There is a huge divide just between first and generation immigrants, for example. You have good reason to question the cramming mentality and want to raise a well rounded child. Then do it, and pick schools that follow your philosophy and let others follow their own paths. But as the SCOTUS decision said, keep race out of the equation. |
LOL no, you don't understand statistics. But sure, keep trying to find ways to justify your racism against Asians. I don't see how any reasonable person can read the above and conclude "yes that is perfectly ok." |
I know that isn't what the Justices wrote, I was reacting to posts on this thread. |
Most people evolve. Like Biden.
I doubt this move will help most of the GOP base, with the exception of the very wealthy. On the plus side, this move will probably help HBCUs, many SLACs, and regional universities. |
Rigged?! Hello, who wants low skill low intelligence uneducated immigrants?! Maybe to fill jobs at the slaughterhouses but since they also bring families that need to be educated and to live somewhere the benefit might not be so great… |
Well there are more top athletes of some races than others, so I don’t know. |
First off, Asians don't all raise their kids the same way. Seriously?! How stupid do you have to be to believe otherwise. Second, even a kid who works hard and has less unstructured play can have a personality, believe it not. Shocking, but freestyle parenting isn't the only kind of parenting that leads to real humans!! Third, it is a very trendy/white/waspy/UMC thing nowadays to praise kids endlessly, validate all their feelings, help them make friends and be popular, etc. That's fine if it's important to you but know there are others who disagree and think this style of parenting leads to entitled, selfish, hippie pricks who need their trigger warnings and safe spaces. If that's what you mean by personality, yeah, you are right, the tiger mom parenting style won't get you there. But we need good doctors, engineers, and lawyers, so some of us want serious parents. |
DP. It’s because so many can’t get one despite AA. But many of those who can are using the loophole. Technically it’s “mestizo” who rightfully get AA. |
Yay hey, the witch is dead! Long live freedom and liberty for all. |
Nah, any talking to kids is good. The problem is when parents don’t. Or the only talk is to put them down, call names etc |
All of you who think this issue was about Asians are strongly mistaken. Presenting Asians as the purported "victims" of AA college admissions policies was a smokescreen to divert attention from the real intended beneficiaries of doing away with AA: WHITES. Asians think Blacks and Hispanics are taking away their slots in the most selective colleges? While admission rates for Asians may go up slightly, a higher proportion of those "extra" slots will be going to whites. |
Asian kids are absolutely not smarter than any race.
Do Asian parents parent better than any other race? Thats the real question and beyond a doubt I'd say yes, that on average, your Asian parent is doing a better job than the average job of your parents of any other race. The levels of education, income, and crime committed by Asians clearly demonstrate their superior way of upbringing children and raising kids. Any other race is free to use the same exact method to get the same kind of results if they wish. |
