None of us know how we would react in a situation like that. Just be glad you haven't been placed in a position where you're that poor roommate, and allow her the grace to overcome this trauma without all the whispering and innuendo. She has enough to deal with, without this hurtful, devastating side eye adding to her pain.

You are right that none of us knows. It's not blaming to hope that everyone will have the ability to call 911 when seeing an intruder.

Just stop. You're piing, you ghoul.

Personal safety and calling 911 is not ghoulish.

You're right. Thank goodness nothing bad will ever happen to you because you are far too smart for that. Same thing for everyone you love. You are very very lucky.

Actually, you are being very judgy and seem to be purposely twisting my words and intention with my comments.

The difference is that I know I am judging your comments. You actually believe you are not judging the surviving roommate. But you are.

Intelligence and arrogance aren't a good combination. You delude yourself into believing you have thought of everything.

I am so tired of posters going on about the roommate and then say they aren't blaming. Without her words, the police wouldn't have had enough evidence to get search warrants and target Kohberger. The victims' parents don't blame her and defend her saying we don't know everything, it will come out through court. People really don't understand how many people came and went at all hours at the house, doors weren't locked, etc. We should thank DM for her helpful testimony in the affidavit!

Can we stop fighting about the roommate and talk about the forum posts that were discovered written by BK as a teenager? He has had issues for a long time.

If not important, then don't teach your kids to call 911.

You still believe you aren’t judging her? You think she didn’t know about 911?

They’re from a forum of people who experience the phenomenon/condition “visual snow.” It’s him. The photo on the profile is him (account hasn’t been logged into since Feb 2012). The very first post in 2009 matches his age and birthday. A post in 2011 talks about posting a rap video which matches when he posted to his SoundCloud account with the same username.

Yep the semantics of that description totally makes a difference. 🙄

Impression 1: Roommate hears strange noises enough to get her out of bed 3 times. Then sees average dressed person walking down the hallway. Makes sense to rationalize what’s going on and go back to bed. No sense of alarm, no need to call police.

Impression 2: Roommate hears strange noises enough to get her out of bed 3 times which included a LOUD thump (loud enough to be picked up 50 feet away on an external camera), crying, dog barking and a statement of “someone is here”. Then sees a perso n dressed in all black and a face covering walking down the hallway that makes her freeze in compete fear. You’re just like Meh, do nothing and go to bed? This makes zero sense no matter how you try to spin in.

There's also the fact that her statement was taken AFTER she knew the murders had occurred, and that these are the facts the police pulled out of her statement to include in the affidavit. So you're not even seeing her full statement.

There's also an underlying assumption that because she was a housemate that she was a part of their friend group - I actually haven't seen her relationship to her housemates described anywhere. Maybe she was close to them or maybe she was a person renting a room in a large house where comings and goings at all hours wasn't out of the ordinary and she just didn't want someone taking a wrong turn into her room so she locked the door.

Read today that the neighbors ring picking up noises from the murders was all fake. There is no ring audio from that day.

I don’t feel any sympathy for the murderer, but I am very sad for the young boy that needed help, was painfully aware something was very very wrong and he needed help, and may not have gotten it. Depersonalization/derealization is horrible. I struggled with it for a period of several months as a young adult after college and the trauma from that time is still with me. I was having daily panic attacks and could not function. Every evening as the sun went down—it was worse at night—I couldn’t do anything except lay in bed and cry.

I guess we know which way his defense is headed

Wtf DCUM, you spent 30 pages going gangbusters about why the roommate didn’t call the cops and chastising each other about it, and these wild screenshots drop and you have little to discuss. I’m not even mad it’s just crazy how different the discussions on this crime are on here vs websleuths.
