There there kiddo. Could you “borrow” your older sibling’s ID and get a marg at Uncle Julio’s or something to take the edge off? |
Im an only child thank you very much, and if I knew who you were I’d throw the margarita and glass in your face. |
| They really nailed it with the increase in Chantilly to 127% without modulars! It takes a certain skill to undertake a multi year boundary study to reduce over-crowding and increase the enrollment at the MOST overcrowded school. Crowning achievement! |

To the poster on validating experiences at Chantilly...my kids did not have that experience but were boys. I think the strong love/hate emotions tends to come from the girls and I know plenty of girls in FCPS who couldn't wait to get away from NOVA regardless of what HS they went to - there is something timeless about teenage angst especially how mean girls can be to one another. But I have friends with girls who loved Chantilly so it depends on the kid.
I personally like the CHS administration (formerly Rocky Run admin). For my view, Chantilly was a very easy HS for my kids to attend, they had no issues, found their people, learned a lot, got into good schools. Girls have a much harder road anywhere it seems. |
You seem to be displaying many of the behaviors you complained of in your post. I’m curious why you are seeking a reaction. Why do you need validation? Be confident in your statement and don’t rely on the approval of others to stand by it. |
Chill out. We all know or should know that Chantilly will shed a lot of kids with the Western boundary adjustments. |
I think they want to force Chantilly families to the Western school by crowding it even more. Initially, I thought we were going to ease the crowding there, so I wonder why the change? I would love to hear Reid's explanation. |
I acknowledge that you are very whiny and would not have been happy wherever you went to school. No one took anything you typed seriously because it's so over the top. We all knew people like you in school. Nothing could have been done to make you a happy child. Maybe some therapy would have helped. |
We also had a good experience at Chantilly. NO school is perfect. They all have the same teenage drama and the same issues. |
|
They didn’t make any hard decision.
Most changes involve moving kids from less popular schools to more popular schools. I don’t really care about equity but you can argue that this boundary change would result in even more inequity. |
Tell that to the thousands of kids who have to leave their friends as a result of this folly. |
Not that many - last I saw it was only Chantilly Highlands zoned for Western. Honestly do no see their path unless they are serious about two stepping this by splitting CH to Western and some kids to Westfields. Meanwhile they tell the Western zoned kids in CH that they can definitely attend Chantilly. At 127% occupancy. |
What's it like having the Purple Platoon live rent free inside your head? |
You don’t know what the heck you’re talking about. I lived in Springfield for about 25 years. Since South County was built, Springfield area which is close to Lorton was zoned for South County. Newington Forest is zoned for South County as well. There are some neighborhoods that are zoned for West Springfield. Really, some of those Springfield homes should be zoned for Lewis and Lorton Station kids should be zoned for south county. |
So is Lorton Station Elementary but it’s zoned for Hayfield. Lorton station is 5 minutes from south county. Yet, Newington Forest gets to be zoned for South County. We have to drop our children off at Hayfield which is a 15 minute drive. Why don’t Newington Forest go to lewis. Anyways, they are a Springfield school. Lorton should be with Lorton and Springfield with Springfield. Obviously there is no room at west Springfield and Lewis is way under capacity. |
