RM Cluster Overcrowding?

Since when does Wooton have 600 extra seats? It should really go to Crown making less disruption for neighborhoods..like Chinese Immersion moved from College Gardens to Baynard leaving most of the CG boundaries in tact.

Not enough resources for the students currently at RM. That is what it boils down to.

I'm pretty sure that pp means, please give an example of how "science in cart" works.

Now not just "science in cart" (whatever that is), but boiling down "science in cart"?

The IB program at RM is part of the school's fabric at this point. Sure, it's overcrowded but would make more since to adjust it's boundaries if needed than remove an integral program that's successful and fully staffed.

IB program should be shifted out of RM immediately. That will bring RM within capacity and the council member Mark Pierzchala can have lot more condos.

Some of the options,

Shift IB out.

Put TB ES outside of RM cluster.

Redraw boundaries by doing something else to make room for additional condos supported by our council member Mark Pierzchala.

We should forget about kids education and simply do a policy change to build more.

How about putting Beall ES outside of RM cluster?

Beall is not on edge of RM cluster. CG is on north edge. CG can be put outside of RM cluster.

TB is though better candidate. TB wants lots of grocery shops and condos there. RM can't afford it so TB is better off in Woodward or Wheaton HS cluster and then TB can build lots of condos.

Sure it is - it's on the eastern edge. Beall has Rockville Town Center, and that's one of the places contributing to the projected increase over 120% of capacity. Rezone Beall to Rockville HS.

The magnet is pretty self contained. Unlike the Blair magnet the RMIB kids take all academic classes seperately. RM could continue to offer a regular IB program like Rockville HS and BCC.

With Magnet RM was rated at 56 percentile in MD. Where we will land if magnet is out of RM? 30??20??

How much beefing is there at Blair? Need to get DS to a saner situation. He got the brains and likes lacrosse but fell into a bad crowd that vapes.

Agree with this. There are two major areas for additional housing. Beall and TB. MCPS should look at shifting one of them out of RM cluster. I think Wheaton and Rockville high schools are nearby. It will require considering some other HS as well. Hopefully, MCPS does a county wide boundary soon and adjust RM to bring it in 80-100% range.

We all must take a stand against extremist pro-development zealots like Mark Pierzchala and advocate against additional overcrowding for this cluster. Please write the mayor and Councilman Pierzchala early and often. He is going to destroy this cluster.
