I don’t see McDonogh making the miaa playoffs this year. They have little threats on offense. Could be a long season for the Eagles in Baltimore. New coach better figure it out fast.
It's write home about.

Severn with the upset.

Lil Hoyas looked dominant yesterday at BL!

They play like they did yesterday and GP is going to win a lot of games this spring.

Spalding won big, caveat being DM FOGO was out and I’m not sure they won a single face off. Spalding and CH look like they are a cut above everyone else in the area this year. Spalding scrimmaged a very good GC team as well and bet them pretty badly.

Yes. Much like preseason NFL football games or spring training game, the score was meaningless. It was as scrimmage and pointless to take anything away from it.

So GC got beat starters v starters.

Really? How sure were they all playing starters? pinny numbers aren't jersey numbers. and lots of coaches take different views of scrimmages. Some go all out while others look at different combinations to see the chemistry between players. Is GP better than GC? probably but a scrimmage in no way proves it.

Spalding is turning into a football and lax factory, good for them! Spalding and Calvert Hall are the clear favorites in the ever crowded MIAA.

Down south in the IAC, no secret there, its between Landon and Prep. Bullis doesn't have the depth to run with either team

The WCAC will be very interesting this year, the Cadets are the clear favorite, but I see PVI acting as the dark horse. Good Counsel on paper looks as talented as anyone, but can their coaching staff put it together? And you can never count out my Purple Eagles; they play with a ton of heart.

Not really. SJC doesn't try to win scrimmages.

Heard SJC put a beatdown on Gilman. It was ugly.

They got smacked around by STAB, though.

You must be new. Every team plays it almost exactly the same and is agreed upon. Teams play their starters in the first half and into the 3rd when then start playing deeper subs. The 4th and sometimes a 5th quarter is played with very young or very deep bench players. GC almost certainly got waxed by the best team in the MIAA. It's no shame, but at least give an honest appraisal of the scrimmage rather than some ignorant gaslight.

SJC starters lose to STAB. Very sloppy. SJC looks much better against and blows out Gilman.
GC competitive but loses to Calvert Hall, then gets absolutely dog walked by Spaulding.
GZ handles STA fairly easy in their first scrimmage.

To the extent they’ve kept score, what was the score of the Potomac Heights scrimmage today?
Anonymous
They basically had a joint practice and then scrimmaged for two 12 min quarters. Potomac up 6-3 when subs came in and it ended 6-5

Quick Tweak to the Pre-Season Rankings.
(Yes, scrimmages matter)

1. SJC - STAB isn't a DC area team
2. PVI - manhandles the early season
3. GP - room to move up
4. Landon - we hear you about the fogo
5. GC - Spaulding, yeesh
6. Bullis - dark horse
7. GZ - not done yet
8. STA - missing players but coming together
9. Episcopal - have some good transfers
10. DeMatha - still have a couple pieces
HM
Heights - loss of wppoy seems to have really, really hurt
Publics - Langley, Yorktown, Robo. Someone will reveal themselves
