The "As Ever" name is also taken from a vintage clothing company in New York and they are already losing customers because the internet algorithm takes all clicks to Meghan's As Ever site. The irony is that Delfina Blaquier, wife of Harry's polo playing pal -- Nacho Figueras -- and one of Meghan's guest in the cookery show, posted a rave review about a jacket she bought from "As Ever." Many intersections in Meghan's friend group

Well she did get artisanal handmade dog biscuits and a bunch of jars of "sun tea" which would be a pain in the neck to travel with even if flying private so she was probably returning the favor with a good review.

I feel bad for the vintage clothing company. Maybe Meghan should rename again. Is Elevated Everyday taken? She seems to really like using the word elevated.

Why? You act like she showed up and put a gun to the owner's head and told him to give her the name or else. She applied for a trademark. She was granted a trademark, as he does not have one.

If it was that big a deal to him, he should've trademarked it.

Obtaining a trademark is expensive as Meghan Markle found out with her application to trademark American Riviera Orchard, which the Patent and Trademark Office has now declared a "dead application." Although she spent money on one of best intellectual property lawyers in LA, she could not get the name trademarked, possibly because she didn't sign a re-submit of the application and pay the $700 fee. The best thing that came out of her attempt to trademark the name was a clever person who bought the site "American Riviera Orchard UK" and used it to raise money for the Trussell Trust which runs foodbanks in the UK. People donated over 25,000 pounds to the Trust and they were able to re-stock many pantries which were depleted because of the UK's cost of living crisis in the UK.

You say this like it means something horrible when in reality it is just what you said. She did not re-submit the application. My understanding was she was told she couldn't trademark it because "American Riviera" is too widely used to trademark it. So she pivoted and changed the name.

Really not seeing the big deal here.

And just like I said, it's not that she did not re-submit the application, it's that she didn't sign and pay the fee when she re-submitted the application. And just like I said, I don't think her cockup witht the trademark application is horrible. I think it is fortuante that UK foodbanks benefitted from donations made through the American Riviera Orchard UK website.

Sounds like a fun childhood to me. And not much of a leap to being on TV growing up in LA and your Dad.

That show had Ed Oneil as star one of the biggest actors in TV land and had celeb guest stars all the time. Some of them are below.

She had more fund than I ever had as a kid

Sugar Ray Leonard , Ed "too tall" Jones, Hacksaw Reynolds, Lawrence Taylor, Joe Morgan, Bo Jackson, Johnny Bench, Dave Winfield, Mike Piazza, Larry Brown, Roy Jones Jr, Steve Carlton, Ernie Banks, Frank Thomas, Danny Tartabull, Bret Saberhagen, Danny Bonaduche,Todd Christianson, David Boreneaz, Milla Jovovich,

Her father was actually the Emmy award lighting director for "Married with Children" and her best friend until she divorced Trevor Engelson was Naniki Priddy Priddy's aunt is the actress and singer Nancy Priddy who is Christina Applegate's mother. Applegate played the daughter on "Married with Children." With those connections, as well as the guest stars you mention, it is surprising that Meghan Markle had little success until her longtime boyfriend, Trevor Engleson, helped her get the role on the Canadian cable show "Suits."

Ok I have not watched this show and am not a Meghan fan or anything, and actually I did not even take my DH's name, but I have zero problem with this.

It's not her name. People call her Meghan Markle all the time but it's legally not her name. She took her husband's name and since her husband belongs to this stupid family where their names are dictated by their title, they are "the Sussex family." Yes that part of it is dumb but it is still her name and it's okay to ask people to call you by your actual name and not by whatever they feel like calling you.

I used to have to correct people all the time when I got married and didn't take my husband's name. A lot of people made assumptions and wanted to call me Mrs. [his last name]. And when I'd say "nope, I'm still [my name]" I know plenty of people thought I was being annoying. But I was just letting people know what my name is so that they could call me by my actual name. Are you supposed to just ignore it when people call you the wrong name for years? I don't get what you all think she should do.

It's also annoying of Mindy to be saying her first and last name all the time and referring to Meghan in the third person there. It makes Mindy sound like she just read tabloids all the time and has no manners. That's an off-putting way of interacting with someone.

BUT, you don't do it on your own show and in the way she did, which obviously did embarass Mindy. "Funny you say that..." Is not the way to handle it. Could have been done in a different more humorous and self deprecating way.

Agree. It would have been much more natural and had the same impact of making people aware of her name if they had just done a take where Mindy was calling her Megan Sussex.

I wish Mindy had then said," So you would prefer people call you Megan Sussex?"

To which Meghan would have repliced: "Even my littles can spell my name M-E-G-H-A-N. I can't believe a dolt like you was on the red carpet at the Academy Awards."

The British media is BRUTAL in general. They just pick your weak spot and exploit it. The racism was inexcusable, but so was the fat shaming of fergie, the cruelty of exposing Charles infidelity, and the "waity katie" bit for kate.

It's arrogant, myopic, and selfish for MM to portray the media as specifically cruel to HER. They are cruel to everyone.

I think they were essentially asked to leave and she had to make an excuse as to why.

Come on. Exposing a mistress or saying “waity Katie” is NOT the same as hate-fueled racism. Can’t you see that?? With Meghan they could’ve gone after the fact that she was an actress, or they could’ve just made fun of the fact that she was an American, who didn’t know their customs, or something other than her race.

What coverage was racist? I don’t think any current coverage of her is racist. I don’t really remember the old coverage, so I’m genuinely asking. On the other hand, all the coverage defending her says that the negative press is racist. If anyone seems to be making race a prominent issue, it’s the people who like her. It’s kind of like the people who claim that calling Lauren Sanchez trashy is racist - it has nothing to do with her race and everything to do with her grotesque filler and innapropriate wardrobe choices highlighting her plastic cleavage. It’s not fair to label every criticism of someone who happens to be a minority as racist.

Meghan was raised primarily by her white father and sent to predominantly white private and Catholic schools and Northwestern. She listed her race as "Caucasian" on her acting CV and only dated, lived with and married white men. She has surgically altered her face to remove her Nigerian features and wears a wig to cover he natural hair. She lives in Montecito which is 81% white and 1% African American. She married a very white man to ensure that her Nigerian genes would be diluted even more.

I know you’re enjoying the review of her Nigerian genes….we could also discuss why she didn’t make the tea sandwiches and then cut them into shapes…

?! This is for $$, obviously. Nothing wrong with that - it's her hustle and everyone deserves to be compensated for their time. But this isn't selfless and "kind."

I don’t see anything wrong with her making money this way. For all those saying she should shed light on charities instead, literally she gets lambasted every time she shows up at anything charitable too — e.g. the vast criticism of her showing up to support LA wildfire victims, Uvalde, etc. It doesn’t matter, nothing she does will please people.

Who made her the expert. She is a Martha Stewart wannabe.

I am not a fan of Meghan, at all. That said, the episode with Roy Choi was good. She should focus on guests that teach her things. She loosened up a bit.

I don't know why you think we should uplift someone who ridicules their friends and family on TV.

Never heard her ridicule her family. She called them out for bad behavior, like telling her to get on with it while she was suicidal and pregnant.

I really don’t care that she said curtsying is like going to Medieval Times. Do you?

It was a pretty rude thing to say about meeting your future 90 something year old grandmother-in-law. And Harry looked very uncomfortable bc it WAS uncomfortable. And the way sue addressed Mindy isn't how I would speak to my friend, in public or private. But that's fine if you act like that, just expect it to raise eyebrows.

It was not uncomfortable at all. She said the Queen was lovely but that curtsying was weird to her. If that makes you uncomfortable you need to toughen up and get a thicker skin.

I would absolutely be fine joking around with a friend. I’m sorry that you don’t seem to get along with other women so you don’t get female friendships as like an overarching. Maybe you should take a cue from Hillaria and go to a yoga class to make some friends there?

New poster. I have just been mindlessly reading this thread and laughing at some of the witty comments. But your post made me stop. You are taking things way too personally. Nobody who saw the clip, whether they like Meghan or not, thought she was joking. She absolutely was not. Now I think you need to go touch grass, PP. Meghan doesn’t know you or need you to insult a bunch of randoms on this thread in her honor.

People already mentioned it, but I think she dresses nicely. She could have partnered with Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's for a line of linen shirts and dresses, expanded into jewelry. Something like affordable-ish luxury for MC/UMC. Harry has absolutely no skills or use.

I agree with you on Meghan. Her collaboration for that British fashion charity was nice.

Disagree Harry has no use. He served in combat.

Harry was in a combat zone for 10 weeks as an air traffic controller but was heavily guarded by a group of Gurkha soldiers. In his second tour in Helmand province he was assigned to a British squadron, but again guarded by Gurkhas. Harry had difficulty learning to fly the British Apache Helicopter in the typical one year period needed by most British flyers. As a favor to the Queen, Harry was allowed to train at American military bases in California and Arizona. After intense training, he learned to fly enough to become a gunner/co-pilot on a British Apache helicopter. It has never been documented that Harry was actually in combat but there were numerous pictures of him running for helicopters but never taking off into battle. In his book he said he killed 25 Taliban and the effect was like sweeping pieces off a chessboard. Military people of integrity do not reveal their kills, and it is one reason why people question Harry's military service. After ten years in the military, he left because he could not pass the test to move on to command. He had the option of staying in the military as a captain but in a desk job. He quarreled with his commanding officer and was hurried out of the military. Charles and William had William's then private secretary Ed Lane Fox introduce Harry to the American Warrior Games with the hope they could create a role for him. This was the genesis of his Invictus Games and William later donated his 1 million pound settlement from his phone hacking suits against Murdoch tabolids to the games.

The palace men in grey suits crafted a very good image for Harry after he left the service and he was very popular as the "bad boy, cheeky bachelor." He is charmismatic and has done well giving motivational speeches for corporate events. He was just paid $100,000 to appear at a tech summit in Los Angeles. If he could focus on this public speaking and Invictus Games and not pretend to be a British royal, he will do well.

Who in the heck would pay this nitwit $100K to speak? He’s done nothing in life. Sounds like a money laundering scheme.

This. She literally cannot win. She went to Uvalde and was criticized. A couple of the mothers she visited said that it wasn't a photo op, they text with her often, she remembers their kids' bdays and the anniversary of their death and texts them then...but people still say she's fake. She went to that charity for teen girls who lost everything in the fire and was criticized. The girl who started it said Meghan was lovely and kind and spent more time with her than any other celebrity or politician and went out of her way to help...but people still say she's fake.

Hell, someone posted up thread that Mindy Kaling said the "It's Sussex" bit wasn't offensive and she is still friends with Meghan and none of the people claiming "Mindy wore a revenge dress" have addressed that. How many people have to tell you Meghan is nice and that they like her before you believe them? What would be their reasoning to lie? Meghan and Harry are barely scraping by in the entertainment biz themselves, it's not like these celebrities are being nice to them for jobs.

You know, I used to be a Meghan hater too, but you know when I realized you all lost the plot? Coronation weekend. They repeatedly went online saying Meghan shouldn't go to the Coronation because it would take attention from Charles. So she didn't...AND THEN THE SAME PEOPLE SAID SHE SNUBBED CHARLES. That was when I realized she truly can't win and it became obvious what a massive hate campaign all of this has become. I'm not saying she's perfect or that it's racist to dislike her but I think a lot of you need to get a grip. She's pretentious and out of touch. She doesn't rape teenagers or collude with Nazis...those would be various members of the royal family. I really don't care if a rich lady tells me to find joy in flower sprinkles.

I haven't seen anyone say that calling Lauren Sanchez trashy is racist, but I'll bite. Do you think it's comparable to wear lingerie to the inauguration and....whatever you think Meghan has done? You think those things are equally trashy? Really?

Real talk, I have not heard anyone defend LS. That's like the last great unifier in this country, calling her trashy.

Yes, Lauren and Meghan are both equally trashy money grubbing fame seeking divorcees.

DP. Two things:

1. Mindy Kaling thinks Meghan was joking
2. If this is the post that made you stop, you have a weird threshold for being shocked.

Alright, drama queen. Mindy was on The View this morning saying it was a joke and she loves Meghan, so maybe chill the f out.
