Hayfield Football Coach Fired

only a truly crappy coach would lose a game with an entire team of handpicked all stars, D1 commits and private school transfers. Yikes!

Huh? What happened. Is there a final score for this game?

Hayfield does not have an entire team of handpicked all stars, D1 commits and private school transfers. Hayfield has 4 D1 commits, RiverDale Baptist has 13+. It was a great game. But RiverDale Baptist is faster, bigger, and has a better QB and defensive line. It was fun to be out there. Great football!

Riverdale Baptist has a good coach that top players follow around. Except Kates, is at a nice private school too and doesn’t have deal outside drama. That really is a distraction. They can focus on football.

After seeing what happened last night, it’s very likely Hayfield gets knocked off in the playoffs, especially if they run into Battlefield or Oscar Smith.

When you go to such great lengths to cheat (33+ handpicked recruits!), but lose anyway: the Overton Story.

They do say cheaters never win in the end.

Why do you keep exaggerating the number of kids who transferred in?

You’ve been corrected in this forum multiple times and a little bit of research will tell you the actual number is 15. The fact that you keep exaggerating makes it obvious that your intentions are nefarious.

Overton must be screwing this guys wife.

Not surprised they lost but they’ll win their remaining games and then the playoffs will show if they can really compete

Honestly look at their record they’ve run rampant over their competition until this game

Hayfield this year has what would’ve been considered VA AAA D6 players in VA AAA D5 conference. Schedules are made in advance but this hayfield team should’ve been playing a schedule that read

Soco
Robo
lake Braddock
Westfield
WSHS (well they did pants them but still)
Idk whose good out fcps west anymore

But old school Centreville, chantilly, oakton (Pete bendorf) days

That’s what would’ve shown the mettle of this years hayfield squad

Also winning generally shuts people up about controversy and overtons been winning up to last night (I’m not defending him). Funny he loses a game and it’s he brought in all these players, but you haven’t heard diddly about that since august especially when they were ripping thru opponents

Again winning generally makes people stop talking

Last night exposed Hayfields QB. French or Finch? He isn't good. Explains why he hasn't committed anywhere. Maybe he had a bad night but he wasn't good last night and it was the first time I saw him. It also proved that Overton #6 (the player) is the real deal. Despite going up against a better team he continued to show out. The other kid Moore was iffy at first but also proved himself.

Um. Someone did the math a few pages back and it was 22+ WITHOUT being able to tell about most of the Sophomores and the suspicious number of Freshman on Varsity.

This is 100% untrue. People have been complaining about his cheating before the season and during the season. No one cares if he's winning or not. No one likes the cheating and recruiting for a public school team.

One more thing, I think this loss is a good thing for Hayfield. They can learn from it. You could tell a lot of the players thought they were faster than they are because they have been playing bums. But last night their lack of speed was exposed. They would make cuts you can only do if you are fast and quickly found out, they shouldn't be making those cuts. They need to go train with the track team in the off-season.

Anonymous wrote:Undisputed facts: At least 12 players on Hayfield Varsity are listed as playing for Freedom last year, as well as 3 transfers from private schools in MD and DC. (Note: actually 4)

There are also 7 new junior and senior players on Varsity who did not attend Hayfield last year.

That's 22 definite transfers who are new this year to Hayfield Varsity.

There are an additional 13 freshman listed on the Varsity team with no way of knowing where they came from. I have never seen an FCPS HS roster with 13 freshman on it. Even 1 freshman on Varsity is highly unusual. Speculation: At least some if not most or all of these kids probably play on the coach's private AAU team.

Sophomores are a mystery without a published Hayfield freshman roster from last year.

Finally, there are still a handful of players who were pulled off the roster at the last minute by VHSL who are still not eligible. No one knows how many or why they are barred from playing.

So, if Hayfield parents have been saying 33, its easy to see how they got up to that number. Its clearly more than 15. (And 15 transfers is an insane number!)

Re-upping the math for the person confused about the number of hand-picked recruits on Varsity.

Just here and in your head. Nowhere else.

They have been playing other large public school Varsity football teams, whose starters are very good athletes, not "bums".
