Women supporting women, this is so much fun to see! You have no idea what she is truly inside or if she was actually lied to by her husband, do you? Financial infidelity is a real thing and I have personally experienced it with my partner, it's amazing how blind we can be when we love someone, I know that firsthand. I give her some grace and time for the truth to come out and sadly, my bet is she will have a book/movie deal in the not too distant future as a means of surviving. Seen this story before, she will survive but not without damage in the "trust" department. That's hard to get back, and from my personal experience, all but impossible to escape the emotional damage.

Then you are just as irresponsible as your partner, and she is just as irresponsible as her husband. I'm so tired of adult women acting like children. Take control and know about your family's finances. When you're a grown ass woman, there's no excuse for such deliberate ignorance.

💯 she’s an intelligent woman. I am sure she knew but perhaps did not know the extent of the debt. Neither of them had any idea how to budget. After they sold their place they could have easily stayed in the city in a 3 bed that rents 25k still expensive but about half the cost!

I don't mean to sound snarky, but who can tell if she or her husband were actually intelligent? The videos I've seen show her to be appearance -obsessed and vapid. He was in way over his head after inheriting his father's business. They both seem like idiots.

They are both well-educated! She went to University of Michigan and he went to Collegiate/Brown. As a couple they lacked financial smarts and resilience unfortunately.

What's interesting is you can earn a lot of money and be broke, or earn the same amount and get rich. I think of this when I see someone like Kevin Spacey who is broke despite working at a very high level for decades, and then someone like Brooke Burke, who was B list TV at best on silly shows, but who hustled, made smart business investments and has the most stunning homes and a very stable life. Same for people like the Dubrows: a good job, not billionaire level, but great investments and real estate and hustle The Millers had the spending habits, but not the money management skills or the hustle.

Actually, they were "hustling." Risktakers and big spenders. Not a good mix.

No! If she had hustled she could have made 20k+ per instagram post the way some influencers do. And he was just making bad financial moves. Had they just invested money in boring ways and bought/sold their own private real estate while living within their means, they'd have been actually rich.

DP. What you describe is how influencers plugging Yoplait and hotel resorts make money. This woman was not about to sink that low.

By posting shots of her life just for the fun of it, she was making an even bigger statement about their aspirational life.

How will she marry someone rich? How will that work?

Yeah that’s my question too. I actually think she is very beautiful but she obviously has baggage. Why would some rich guy want her, the only scenario I can think of is that he is very very old. But plenty of beautiful women that won’t be shunned by their social set.

Because she will find some plain looking older man who doesn't care about social media. She'll charm him and play up the tragedy of her life. He will be able to "save" her and her daughters, and have an injection of younger energy in his world.

Candice will be more than fine. No one will drop her. Her sister has a ton of money - they just bought a 25 million dollar house in Miami. She will take care of her nieces/sister. One of her friends will set her up with an older wealthy man - maybe even one if their fathers - because no one wants the widow miller floating around their husbands.

Immediately no but she has, I think, found a community that is respectful and accepting of her and I think she does now see her grandchildren. So not shunned unilaterally for life, no.

Is the sister's money legit?

Candice's sister is married to Rob Crespi whose hedge fund made money in the Gamestop shenanigans. IMO not respectable but it is cold, hard cash.

The mistake we normies (I'll speak for myself) make is assuming financial success is necessarily connected to merit and hard work when it's often pure dumb luck. Candice and Brandon probably thought they were one deal away from making it big and saw their lifestyle as necessary branding - fake it til you make it.

I think she’ll end up like Leslie Bibb’s character Dinah in Palm Royale, and she’ll marry someone older and land on her feet. It is very sad for the children though.

Is this really comparable to the Madoffs? He conned people for 20 years and she was an active participant.
Sure this Miller couple are no innocents, but they are nowhere near the Madoff's level of notoriety.

Madoff was conning retail investors at the synagogue, the country club, doctors, dentists, etc. He was scamming money from widows and orphans. Scamming money from nonprofits/charities. Taking his temple's reserves/endowment and scamming it.

The Millers appear to have targeted other real estate industry and "investor" types (some of whom were also personal friends). They were not doing a broad scam of clueless retail investors, charities, and religious institutions. The Miller's seem to have a fairly small circle of victims. Madoff had something like 25,000 victims.

Yes! Fake it til you make it "lifestyle branding" can sometimes work if backed by real hustle. We have a friend who started an investment fund who comes from very humble upbringings. He went to a top prep school on scholarship, bought a very expensive historic home (large mortgage..) early in his career, had it profiled in AD/Vogue type magazine, and is constantly traveling to hotspots and staying in top hotels/resorts to build an aura of wealth and connection. Definitely a strategy of lifestyle branding to get wealthy families to see him as a peer and invest in his funds. It works as a startup strategy but then you have to actually make good business/investment decisions to keep it going.

She'll likely end up as the third or fourth wife of some sixtysomething guy who owns a handful of successful car dealerships or something like that. Any hot 40-year-old dude doesn't want the baggage Candice is weighed down with. Plus she's past her prime.

+1 She has decent bones to work with and definitely put in the work on exercise, upkeep, styling and angles to present very well. I think gorgeous is a stretch but she's neither manly nor a 3.5. People just hate her because she's behaved abominably and the only thing that people can think of to say to tear down a woman is that she's ugly or mannish. Maybe they could try amoral, greedy, boorish, vain, ostentatious, tacky? She's all of that and also a pretty woman.

Her sister does not have money. Her husband Rob Crespi works at a hedge fund and has a very famous father in financial circles. Ron Crespi has a ton of money. Jenna does not work.

She's a pretty woman to women who are uglier than her and That's no small feat.
