The plotting and scheming probably bonded them and gave them a thrill. Dopamine chasers with no value for human life. I totally agree with you but we are normal people. How you could just move on having snuffed out 2 lives is unfathomable. To them, Christine was an obstacle and Joe was a means to an end, a way to get a man in the house to be framed. Living in the house that had been awash in blood, taking care of a young child, interacting with the neighbors after that? Some cool customers. I wonder what else Brendan has done in his life? Was he a fire starter, animal abuser, a bully, a hazer? This is not something everyone would be capable of, these are some cool customers. We'll see how Juliana does in a cage. It's all over, but she is young, may be delusional, and is probably singing FOB tunes to strengthen her resolve. |

Can someone please link the websleuths thread?
Also I wonder if the woman who was stabbed was able to speak at all after being stabbed. I believe a hearsay exception that can be accepted as evidence is a dying statement (such as my husband stabbed me). |

I think some were quoted on the old thread here that was closed. That thread is linked upthread. It's just a waiting game now to see if Juliana cracks and while they prepare their case against Brendan. She may have been talking to LE but if it was just trying to sell the discredited, implausible lies, not of much use. Hoping that Joe and Christine and their friends and loved ones get justice. |

On the earlier thread it was noted that online condolences were mostly directed to Christine's family, few to Brendan. Make of that what you will.
That thread also referenced a WS post (deleted bc not a news source link) by a friend of Joe who said he had been to the Banfield house before the day of the murders. That is why he/she was puzzled that the au pair called Brendan, it was not something new. Of course it was all a deceptive ruse and set up. He could have been there previously to meet them, not clear that any of them had actually had a sexual encounter, which really is irrelevant anyway. Before all the REEEE, REEEE posters descend, Joe could have been having consensual sex with BOTH Banfields, the au pair and the neighbors on Tuesday and he would still deserve to be ALIVE. A Brazilian au pair snuffed out his life to be the fall guy for the brutal killing of her boss, the wife of her affair partner and that 2 people are dead, needlessly, is tragic. Thankfully she has been charged and hopefully will be convicted. May the ongoing investigations be fruitful. LE has not bought the tales of Juliana to date and dismissed the lies Brendan Robert Banfield tried to push in the 911 call (as his wife lay DYING) since day 1. |

In an interview with Brazil’s Folha newspaper published Sunday, Magalhaes’ mother, Marina Peres Souza, said she was shaken and deeply worried about her daughter’s situation. She also gave an account of what Magalhaes said happened on the morning of the deaths. Souza says Magalhaes was arriving for work when she saw a man entering the house and, feeling scared, called Brendan Banfield to tell him about the break-in. Magalhaes and Brendan Banfield then entered the property and found Christine wounded. It was then that Magalhaes, Brendan Banfield, and Ryan allegedly got into a dispute, and Magalhaes shot Ryan to “defend herself and her family.” Souza also claimed that Magalhaes had told her that the case had been closed around three months ago—and that Christine Banfield and Ryan had previously been in a relationship. “She told me that the case had been closed, and that the police had concluded that it was Ryan who killed Christine, because they were ex-partners,” Souza was quoted as saying. “And then we found out about two days before the arrest that they were investigating [her]. They ambushed her on Thursday before work.” |
