Yup, that’s where I went this last episode too. Cheers!

Greg? Tanya's husband? I would not be surprised to find out he was a nasty character because he's already pretty awful. It is weird that he just left but now I assume he comes back?

OMG what if Greg paid the group of gays to murder Tanya so he could inherit her money, and him leaving early was just to give himself an alibi? And Greg told them that all Tanya wants is just constant praise and validation, also told them to bring along a young guy for Portia to get her out of the way?

That sounds a little fanciful for White Lotus but I guess you never know. Lots of shows do weird things in their second season.

Tanya and Greg definitely have a prenup, though, right? Do I remember that being a point of discussion between them?

Maybe some kind of hazing ritual, or Cameron doing something really awful while drunk, or maybe something worse. One theory I have is that Ethan is bi and Cameron suspected it, came onto Ethan in order to get it confirmed, and then Cameron revealed it was all a ruse to find out if Ethan would be into it and now Cameron uses this incident as silent blackmail against Ethan. And maybe that's why Ethan didn't feel like he could bail on the night with Ethan while the girls were gone, and why he is following "bro code" and not just telling Harper what happened since he didn't do anything wrong.

But I also think Harper is very sharp and might be sniffing this out. She has already noticed that Ethan acts different around Cameron and she knows he lied about the night with Cameron, but she's being very methodical in how she draws it out of him. I think she might intuitively understand the whole situation but she knows that the only way to protect her marriage is if Ethan tells her himself. I think she'd be fine with him being bi and also more than happy to help Ethan find a way to flip the tables on Cameron, but she needs Ethan to come clean with her, not just about the night at the hotel but about his whole past with Cameron.

I could be totally off base but that's how I'm reading what appears to be obvious subtext in that relationship.

Given what we know about Harper, she may be bi too - and I don't think she'd care if her husband is bi. She might care if he's cheating - or they might have some arrangement - but I don't think him being bi would faze her one bit.

Clearly she's got a heightened something around Cameron - she seems to loathe him and also to be titillated by him. I think if it's just that he and Ethan had a thing in college, she'd be relieved.

I disagree. For her character, faithfulness seems paramount. She is deeply upset by infidelity. It seems to be her deal breaker. She's also Puerto Rican, likely Catholic where infidelity is a 'sin'. I do not think she'd be okay with a 'bi' husband and certainly isn't going to condone gay sex behind her back.

She does want a man to want her and, even though she strongly protests, she is very jealous of Daphne and the way Cameron is into her and shows her physical affection, etc.

The bed scene with Portia at the end seemed foreboding. It looked like she was about to protest/not give consent. I think in that split second she was having second thoughts. I think that scene will end up being a 'date rape' thing.

Tattoo boy is coming on so strong, over confident, and aggressive it’s gross. Bad news. Like std, bad news vibe.

He feels out the consent with his fancy underwear joke and it’s Green Light if the girl doesn’t puke then and there.

Yes. When he tells Tanya has has to return to the US for work he says he has to keep his job bc of the prenup.

A prenup means he gets nothing in a divorce not nothing if she dies.

Sorry I’m a skank but I find Essex boy hot in his tats and undies.

I think it’s because I married an awesome guy who’s also attractive but definitely not Essex boy. Also I’m like 50 and it’s been a while since I’ve flirted with a boy like Essex boy or had one flirt with me. I’d be down.

Essex boy is perfectly fine. DCUM is just a bunch of classist pearl-clutchers who look down on people with tattoos and apparently conflate being working class with a propensity to sexual assault.

I don't know where people are getting sexual assault from. She seemed pretty down.

Clinically Depressed, looking for fun Chico state and Hit on Everyone Essex boy seem like a good match.

Albie dodged a bullet.

True.

He’ll probably follow up his drunken banter with the “I’m a bad boy, be careful!” line so nothing he does is his responsibility.

Me again. I just went back to rewatch this bit and I didn't see any sign of Portia being unwilling. She's the one who suggested leaving and going to her room. He approached and she participated, and frankly seemed enthusiastic. He might have been a little aggressive with going right in right away but I think that was just supposed to be for the juxtaposition between that and Albie who was asking permission etc. I don't think it showed force or unwillingness AT ALL.

It’s just that in that final scene he is on top of her, she has that nervous face for a sec, and that seems to imply she is uncomfortable.

It’s either to foreshadow a sexual assault or to contrast the Essex boy with Albie (that he’s dominating her vs asking permission).

Btw I do find Essex boy hot too. Just the type you would want to bang on vacation.

Yes they both want to hook up. It is clear. The conversation was light, superficial, and lots of direct innuendo. Hope they use protection because who knows who he’s been doing in Sicily for 2 years.

Albie’s not the hook up type, which is fine.

The director is just continuing the “nice guys finish last” thing.

But who knows how it will finish, maybe they all get married!
