How is this even open to interpretation? SJP’s own dating life is even more impressive than her character’s.

SJP had natural charisma and a charming personality and just exudes happiness and positivity, and people are just drawn to people like that. Apparently a lot of women resent that. It’s mind-boggling.

It's always been that way. Most men rather have the fun average looking woman.

I can't believe any of you guys think she's average looking! But yeah of course people would rather spend time with someone fun.

I guess if your ideal is the quiet WASP, then sure. But it's not mine and I think she looked (and still looks) fantastic.

That hair tho! I’m so envious of it. I have stick straight WASP hair; would give anything for riotous curls.

So bad - no one fashionable had that kid of hair at the time. It looked very 80's and the only other NY women who would wear big curls (on the top of her head too!) was equally annoying and weird Elaine from Seinfeld.

Careful, your anti-semitism is showing.

Don't have to be anti-semite to dislike curly blanket covering woman's back.
This is "the Rachel cut" was invented. A curly Greek girl disliked her curls and we've never seen her with them again.

What in the world are you talking about? 😑

Nope. Still has that big, bumpy nose.

Not PP but she has a point. When was the last time you saw Jennifer Aniston with curly hair?

When she still had her perm?

Dating is about charisma and personality, temperament and sociability.

I was stunning through all my 20's and 30s and despite one long term relationship my dating life was a disaster, not because I didn't look good - I looked amazing - but because I'm really uptight and not relaxed at all, unreasonable and emotionally unstable.

I wish it was down to just looks.

Omg, my heart just broke for you. 😢

I imagine all through your life there have been women from a far who see you and think "if I only loooked like her, all of my problems would be solved".

It just goes to show that the grass isn't always greener.

You're very self aware & intuitive to the traits you deem as toxic... that's very important & a huge step to change.

If you do the hard work, like getting to the root cause of your untreated anxiety (and probable major need for control) you can have the exact life you wanted.

You CAN control it... don't let it control you.

I wish you much love and luck.

She’s gross……looks like a horse.

Yet horses are deemed one of the most attractive creatures!

You really complimented her...

Utterly untrue. Women had style, just not style that fit within your narrow brand parameters.

We all went to sample sales and had options from every designer, plus vintage. As for hair...

Women were allowed to have curly hair that wasn't blonde. Shocking for you, I realize.

Sigh... I love you.

You have no idea -- you really don't.
You just brought me back to such a wonderful time of my life with the mere mention of those two glorious little words... "sample sale".

The garment district was such a delicious playground.

I truly didn't appreciate how beneficial it was being a sample size at the time (especially to my bank account!) because life a fool, at that moment in my life I thought I'd be a sample size forever.

Ahhhh, what a dummy! 🤣

On this day, when my life resembles NOTHING of my past self, I say thank you.

Thank you for giving me this delectable moment of fleeting reminisce. ❤

It's their sleek bodies. Not the smile.

I... find this thread beyond bizarre. The racial stuff is weird. The animus against a celebrity who is not part of your lives in any way is frankly crazy. But now there's an argument among humans about whether or why exactly horses are sexy?

Re-evaluate!

She was successful during her day, and yes good looking. The latest Sex in the city is probably going to be an embarrassment considering they are all probably near 60.
Mr. Big is looking pretty creepy these days, and they should have left it alone.

Interesting. I was the opposite: not a classic beauty but I had charisma/personality/spunk that was very attractive to men. I routinely dated (really dated--not just slept with) men way above me in looks. I married one.
Now I'm 47 and my looks have faded and I'm tired. Plus it's not great to be "cute" in personality when you're 47. So I'm not left with much. Lol.
I bet you will age much, much, better than I have!

Yes it was a show, but disturbing and unflattering toward women. In the real world she would be dating material, but not marriage for solid men. Samantha probably had ongoing STDs, lol. Of course that's what makes a show interesting. In the new one coming up SJP is smoking, and she does look OLD! I believe in real life it's aged her considerably as smoking does. She was very pretty back in the beginning, but being too skinny and smoking has taken it's toll.

She told the public she quit in 2013 until she was caught. Here's a update pic from the set:

Interesting. I have the Sally Field type looks, older than 47 but haven't changed a whole lot. I don't consider anyone above anyone in looks or otherwise, because everyone has some sort of deficit. In terms of men same as you. Long term attraction and compatibility is #1 if a relationship is to last.
