Exactly! No one said anything. Not even William who is now weeping crocodile tears.

That isn’t their way. You buck up and take it. Don’t complain and don’t explain. Meghan knew this. It’s fine if she changed her mind - but they didn’t treat her differently or change the rules on her.

Well they are also racists, so there is that. They were encouraging these attacks.

No, they weren’t.

They absolutely were.

Insiders were definitely leaking stories to the rota to make Meghan look bad.

She had a lot of staff defections and detractors in the palace because she wanted things done her way. Then went rogue with American teams. This is no different than any other job, you have to be good with people or they will not follow.

Also, the more you use the race card unsubstantiated, the more you marginalize the AA community because other races become guarded and not inclusive.

We are used to being marginalized. Yet we still rise. You haven’t said anything.

The topless pictures of Kate were a gross invasion of privacy. That was one of the few times in the last decade and a half the palace reacted. They don't get into a tit-for-tat with the tabloids when they publish rumors. They didn't even do it when Diana was secretly spilling the beans.

Meghan's letter to her father was a fiasco that showed a gross lack of judgement on her part, or maybe desperation to tell her side of the story. Perhaps they should have been more vocal in support of her then, but honestly what do you say, it's family drama playing out in public. I can see why other members of the family did not want to get entangled.

Kate is poised and suited for royal life as well as family life. She will never be lumped in with Opportunistic Oprah or the Kartrashians, unlike Harry’s poor decision.

It will be interesting to see how things play out. Kate and William obviously felt threatened by Harry and Meghan’s popularity. They went out of their way to be unsupportive and unwelcoming and it showed.

Maybe they won’t feel as insecure now that Harry is no longer a working royal and is living in Canada?

Source? Links? Or is this just someone's opinion?

Based upon all the links throughout this thread.

Most notably William and Kate’s silence.

Compare that to how Harry spoke up and defended his SIL after her naked photo on the balcony scandal.

This is the one thing I'll really judge them for. We don't know anything about what they did or didn't do behind the scenes, but we do know they didn't make a public show of support, which could have been done so easily. A public appearance or two where they didn't have to do anything other than be seen together, maybe to a play or dinner or something. It would have spoken volumes.

I get that William and Harry have taken different tacks in whether to call out negative press, but it seems like Harry would have appreciated William at least showing some public support for Meghan even if he takes a different approach toward his own immediate family.

It's difficult to defend Meghan based on her behaviour.

- Making Kate cry during Charlotte's dress fitting.
- Tiara-gate.
- The queen having to have a word with her on how to be kind to staff.
-Wanting the air fresheners in an historic chapel.
- Clearing out Wimbledon, not allowing photographs of her and her friends.
- The litany of staff - nannies, etc. -who have all quit within months of working with her.

The list goes on.

I think all the courtiers wanted to sweep these incidents under the rug rather than call attention to them with a public statement from Will and Kate.

I think at the end of the day it's exactly as Meghan said. That life wasn't working for her. She's totally entitled to feel that way. Some times, things just aren't a good fit and this is how it was for her.

No shade from me. I think she handled it correctly. Just walk away.

I think some insiders wanted to keep Meghan in her place, or she would have made Kate, the future queen, look bad. Meghan has a better work ethic, more articulate, more charisma and strong opinions. Kate was a blancmanger in comparison. Meghan had to be taken out. And out she did go.

I'm not sure how much public or private support you think would be appropriate if your kid brother married a foreign girl, several years his senior. They could have all bonded over the children as a family at Christmas, if H&M hadn't refused to join the family for Christmas.

How close are you to your SILs and BILs, in real life? Do you got out together frequently or only during family visits?

When did two and half become several. Exaggerate much, PP.

They were ADVERTISING the botox clinic. They did the same when Meghan's jewelry designer friend kept ADVERTISING her jewelry using Meghan wearing it. This is just standard protocol.

Harry and Meghan are apparently not talking to each other, or at least not on the same page. Meghan smiles for the cameras while walking her dogs and Harry yells at them for daring to take her pic.

Lol

I'm laughing that H&M are "shocked" that the paparazzi took photos of M walking her dogs and schlepping Archie on her walk.

Did they seriously think they'd be immune from the camera by moving to Vancouver?

And mow they're using a "warning" to the paps.

What? She is looking straight at the camera, posing and smiling.

She was in a PUBLIC PARK. She had no expectation of privacy. If I wanted to pop out my iphone and photograph her, no one could stop me. Maybe they need to talk to a lawyer who can set them straight.

Legally, you’re out of luck. A stranger taking your picture in a public space doesn’t break any laws, according to the Toronto Police Service."

Kid brother marries a foreign girl : a good brother would have been even more supportive.

How do you know he wasn't? Was he supposed to call you and tell you?

They were supportive, until they stopped talking to each other, which coincidentally was the same time that H&M started planning to leave.
