Exactly! No one said anything. Not even William who is now weeping crocodile tears.

That isn’t their way. You buck up and take it. Don’t complain and don’t explain. Meghan knew this. It’s fine if she changed her mind - but they didn’t treat her differently or change the rules on her.
I don’t recall any of the other Royal progeny being compared to a chimp.

Also, when the other royals messed up Buckingham Palace we ant out of its way to defend them.

Kate walks around naked on her balcony and is SHOCKED, shocked that paparazzi would take a photo.
Buckingham Palace promptly defends her. Harry also defends her.

Andrew has very questionable ties to a know sexual predator and possibly also had sex with underage trafficked girls.
Buckingham Palace arranges for an interview at the place so he can defend himself.

William has countless affairs.
Buckingham Palace denies the rumors.

Meanwhile, the entire family uses Meghan as a shield and remain silent while she is constantly abused by the press. No changes are made to British ROTA even after they compare her to a primate and call her baby a chimp.

Come on. No self respecting person would stick around for that - or subject their family to that. This is precisely why Harry made the decision to leave.

The 64,000 question.

It's one photo, a split second in time. Maybe some other dog walker called out to her, "Hey Meghan, good for you!" And she looked over and smiled at the encouragement. Who the heck knows? It's total speculation one way or the other. We all make a choice how to how and whether to make judgments absent real information.

Do you really not get the difference between sunbathing topless on private property and doing a concerted pap walk and um if so why are you stupid

Well they are also racists, so there is that. They were encouraging these attacks.

No, they weren’t.

No one knows what's in their heads or hearts. William and Zara smirking and gaping during that rousing sermon at Harry and Meghan's wedding was not a good look, though.

I think William was jealous that Harry got a hot stunner who was a minor celebrity and was basically not stuck with waity-katie.

That sermon was absurd by any definition. Totally inappropriate and I couldn’t have kept a straight face either. I think William feels totally vindicated that not only can his wife handle royal life, she does so with grace and ease.

My parents raised me better than to mock a sermon while in a church, matter what I thought about it. Too bad you weren't taught basic manners.

That wasn't mocking. And my parents taught me not to be an oversensitive ninny.

Too bad they didn't teach not to be a racist. Cultural styles around preaching vary from white to black churches. Callling that sermon "absurd" is ignorant on our part. The minister who spoke at the wedding was Michael Curry, who is the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the US.

Oh, didn’t you know? It’s not racist to mock African American ministers - they really do look funny! It’s British humor! Come on, deep down you think they look like monkeys too. Why don’t you try to be more understanding of the cultural differences in Britain? Those poor reporters being demonized for making primate jokes is so sad.

Nobody can take a fun joke anymore.

He should have known his audience. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

I know I don’t sunbathe topless on my balcony - and I’m not even famous! But if I chose to do that it wouldn’t surprise me if someone walking down the street took a picture and posted it online - probably mocking me.

Yes, my house is “private property” and it would still be a very stupid decision to go outside naked.

It will be interesting to see how things play out. Kate and William obviously felt threatened by Harry and Meghan’s popularity. They went out of their way to be unsupportive and unwelcoming and it showed.

Maybe they won’t feel as insecure now that Harry is no longer a working royal and is living in Canada?

Source? Links? Or is this just someone's opinion?

Based upon all the links throughout this thread.

Most notably William and Kate’s silence.

Compare that to how Harry spoke up and defended his SIL after her naked photo on the balcony scandal.

This is the one thing I'll really judge them for. We don't know anything about what they did or didn't do behind the scenes, but we do know they didn't make a public show of support, which could have been done so easily. A public appearance or two where they didn't have to do anything other than be seen together, maybe to a play or dinner or something. It would have spoken volumes.

I get that William and Harry have taken different tacks in whether to call out negative press, but it seems like Harry would have appreciated William at least showing some public support for Meghan even if he takes a different approach toward his own immediate family.

Well, the Brits and the BRF in particular are pretty good at hiding their emotions. They could have done a better job of it during the ceremony.

Really, how dare she go for a walk in the park with her dogs and baby!

I mean why couldn’t she just go out topless on her balcony like a REAL princess? But no, Meghan has to be a total attention whore and go for a walk in the park (fully clothed) with her baby and pets.

It’s a good thing she’s not using her royal titles - this could have been REALLY embarrassing!

What did the British press say it do. All they did was cover Royal engagements which is literally their job. What did actual respected journalists say or do that was soooo bad?

Maybe they offered and were turned down by Harry and Meghan. The point is, you have no idea.

Its not like that was even a typical Episcopalian sermon, I've been one my whole life. He was intentionally going for shock and awe and he got it.

They absolutely were.

You keep saying this, with no proof. Other than one reporter who was fired, what are you even talking about? Please provide links.

Reports of Meghan being raised in the ghetto. Headlines blazing “straight outta Compton”. Other stories from slave descendant to Buckingham palace. As if that was and is the only things that defined her. BTW, I thought DCUM said MM was raised UMC. But, the British press defined her as ghetto poor, their code word for Black.

There was no invasion of Meghan's privacy while in UK, although there were plenty of petty and mean articles. Lot's of invasion of privacy in Canada, it appears she doesn't mind.

The topless pictures of Kate were a gross invasion of privacy. That was one of the few times in the last decade and a half the palace reacted. They don't get into a tit-for-tat with the tabloids when they publish rumors. They didn't even do it when Diana was secretly spilling the beans.

Meghan's letter to her father was a fiasco that showed a gross lack of judgement on her part, or maybe desperation to tell her side of the story. Perhaps they should have been more vocal in support of her then, but honestly what do you say, it's family drama playing out in public. I can see why other members of the family did not want to get entangled.
