Virginia referendum - if you hate MAGA, vote YES (even if your mailing says to vote 'No')

Or can’t fathom that anyone would still be voting with MAGA at this point.

You know PLENTY of Democrats, as well as Republicans, are voting no - right? But keep on living in your siloed echo chamber. At least you're consistent.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is nothing new and does not seem to be ending any time soon. You voted against this amendment because you think it’s a bad idea. That women looked at you that way because she now thinks you’re a bad person. That’s just how that certain group of people live their sad lives.

+1
The sheer arrogance that they think they know best is staggering.

We should look at what is best for ALL Virginians. What is best for the state? I am so sick and tired of both sides arguing every side point and getting off the main topic. Then if someone doesn't agree, well, they will certainly tell you why "you" are wrong. Trump isn't going to be president forever. This amendment while being proposed as temporary, has the potential to say indefinitely. I for one am going to consider it staying indefinitely because right now, both sides of the political spectrum are lying. I don't have confidence in any political party. I am voting for what is right for the people of VA, and only VA. As a common sense individual, I find it crazy how divided we have become as a society and our intolerance for other people's opinions. We really need to stop looking at politics as a game and what side is going to win and knocking opponents out. We need to think of society if the politicians won't.

I agree that the only way to restore sanity to our politics and our country, and to make us united again, is to get the MAGAs out of power by voting YES on the amendment.

Which “Democrats” are OK leaving Trump unchecked?

It’s a “no” vote for me too, based on everything you said

It is temporary. New legislation would need to be passed beyond the next planned redistricting.

Of course MAGAs will misrepresent this.

Federal income taxes were supposed to be temporary too. Fool me once..

You were around for that?

It’s temporary. Period.

The people saying it’s temporary are the same ones telling us it’s about “restoring fairness”. The deception behind it is shocking.

Pssst. Just a heads up. You are who PP is talking about. You’re part of the problem.

Voted yes yesterday. I pray this passes for the sake of the country.

My bet is it passes like 58/42.

Can you place bets on Polymarket or the like?

All this discussion feels like the Sears supporters getting loud on DCUM on how it was going to be close.

Pssst. Just a heads up. This isn't a "both sides" problem. So if we want unity, we need to start by getting rid of the people who caused us to become so divided. I'm a Republican, and I see this very clearly, so I'll be voting YES.

I’m an Independent and while I’m moderate in a lot of things, I am wholeheartedly a “Yes” on this. For the good of all.

It’s going to be closer than Spanberger’s whomping of Sears but I still think it’s going to pass. And yes, sadly I think you can probably bet on the outcome at Polymarket or Kalshi.

+1. Same here. The MAGAs are not limited-government Republicans; they are charlatans who just want to enrich themselves even if it means starting wars, exploding our debt, and being unnecessarily combative with Democrats. They caused our extreme divisiveness, and there's no way we can reduce that divisiveness without getting them out of power. I'm sad that this is what my Republican party has become, and so I am definitely voting yes.

There FIFY. Does anyone on here actually know how checks and balances actually work, as opposed to what the pols tell you? How bills work? How impeachment works? The failing K-12 system has apparently been failing civics classes for generations.
