Well, I don't. In part because I don't think he's as bad as people are claiming, and at this point, probably more because replacing him will make no difference and will only cause the Democratic party to fracture more. |
Anyone who thinks Harris is more likely to win than Biden is also in denial. Trump is probably going to eke out a win either way. |
I doubt it. But I’m enjoying the confidence from Repos. Nobody likes their demented skink of a candidate. A loser. A traitor. A felon. A rapist. A man who was so happy to get rid of Roe. A man who loves Project 2025. |
People think Kamala is dumber than Biden even at his most senile. Let it go. |
The media keeps banging the drum because it is a compelling story. Large majorities of Democrats think Biden is too old, yet he decided to run again anyway. It's his main weakness and his recent appearances just verify that he's suffering from age-related cognitive decline. Is he fit to be president now? As far as I can tell, yes, but I'd bet against that in 2+ years. |
dp.. here's the difference... Trump has always sounded deranged and not quite there. So, people who dislike already know this about him. MAGA cult are blind to Trump's faults. We already know that. Biden doesn't have a cult like following. People who voted for him in 2020 are more sane and looking for someone not deranged and cognitively all there. He has shown recently that he is not all there anymore. It's time for someone else. We cannot have Trump in the WH. Cannot. Ever. Again. |
Trump is just as clueless, the only difference is that he'd probably use the n-word. |
Isn’t there a tape recording of Trump saying the n word? Why have we never heard it? |
As someone who doesn't like Harris, she is a way better choice than Trump and Biden at this point just because she isn't morally corrupt, chronologically outdated or clinically incapable. That and she is a woman. Its time to stop game of musical chairs between one gender and give other gender a chance. |
In the first 5 minutes of the debate, it was clear to me that Biden was done, and that his inner circle had hidden the extent of his precipitous decline. So I disagree with you that there is some elitist or media conspiracy against Biden. If any fault attaches to the media, it's having been way too nice with their coverage of his many previous flubs and confusions. But if you'd paid attention, for the past two years they've been chaffing and remarking on the lack of press conferences, and the unusually tight scripts the Biden circle has used around the President. The anti-Biden sentiment since the debate has been a GRASS-ROOTS one, coming from people like me, who don't follow everything each candidate does all the time but watches prime-time events like the State of the Union, the debates, etc. My friends, my neighbors, my relatives, who are all various shades of pro-Democrat centrists and lefties from around the world, all immediately thought Biden was done for. I don't know ANYONE in real life, who wants Biden to run. Some of them think Trump will win whatever Democrats decide to do. Some of them think Harris has a fighting chance. But we all know that Biden can't win. Even if he were to win, can you imagine him on the world stage, making decisions at 3am? Ridiculous. All our enemies will take advantage. What you're seeing today is not some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy: you're seeing Democrats in the House, Senate and donors, publicize their formerly private positions, because Biden's inner circle refuses to come to terms with reality. Schumer, Pelosi, various rank and file Dems wanted to protect Biden's dignity and make it appear as if it was his decision. But since he's being so egotistical and self-serving, people have had to leak previous weeks' discussions to signal their desperation and ramp up the pressure. |
I want a woman POTUS too, but Kamala would pretty much validate everyone who thinks women are incapable and we wouldn't even sniff a VP nomination again for another fifty years. She's not smart enough, she's not exciting enough, and she's not likeable enough. |
Biden vows to run as more Democrats ask him to drop out
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cg3jw2gexedo.amp 19 July 2024, 16:03 BST Updated 9 minutes ago US President Joe Biden is looking forward to "getting back on the campaign trail next week", fortifying his commitment to stick in the race as more Democrats on Friday called for him to step aside as the party nominee. “The stakes are high, and the choice is clear. Together, we will win," he said. His statement comes amid conflicting reports of conversations within Mr Biden's circle and the larger party about the president's future. |
Again with the whataboutism. We expect trump to drop the n word (sadly). But joe biden should be able to recall tge names of his cabinet members!! It’s not relevant. Maga loves trump for the ass he is. Biden is supposed to be the sane alternative but he’s out to lunch. Stop comparing the two |

The Biden For President campaign is calling an all-staff meeting for Friday. It’s heading into a critical weekend for the party as Republican Donald Trump wraps up a heady Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and Democrats, racing time, consider the extraordinary possibility of Biden stepping aside for a new presidential nominee before their own convention next month in Chicago.
As anxiety and information swirled, Biden’s closest friend in Congress and his campaign co-chair, Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware, told The Associated Press, “President Biden deserves the respect to have important family conversations with members of the caucus and colleagues in the House and Senate and Democratic leadership and not be battling leaks and press statements.” https://apnews.com/article/biden-democrats-drop-out-election-2024-3f9e3d15431fd4974771a54e1d0e4ea7 |
