The students adore him. He is kind and very interactive.

So why am I constantly hearing that he’s awful?

I'll tell you why. It's because there was a group of parents who were very buddy-buddy with the old principal and they don't like change because they had an established rapport with him that they now have to completely rebuild with the new principal. People don't like change.

Has anyone been able to build a rapport with the new principal? He’s hard to connect with.

Is this code for he doesn't want to be the parents best friend?

Yes exactly and that's not his job, so who cares?

Easier to making changes if you are liked by parent.

Not sure what the vision for Navy is.

+1 this exactly

Building a rapport with parents (and teachers) is part of being a principal. It’s what makes a great principal. It’s why everyone liked Coch - he was easy to talk to. The new principal can’t even make eye contract.

So have you asked teachers if they like him? You sound very egocentric.

No one cares about how impressed you are or aren't.

Rude and dumb take. Well FCPS should care what parents like me think because we are taxpayers that pay for their salaries….. people should care in general for those who are consumers of their goods…:

LOL everyone in FCPS laughs at this. You sound really dumb.

There are Navy parents who think the teachers, staff, and even the superintendent work for them because they pay taxes. It’s embarrassing. News flash: no one cares that you pay taxes and that you are used to getting what you want because you have money. You’re not entitled to the private school experience at a public school. Start writing those tuition checks if you want to treat the people who work with your child(ren) this way.

ORG chart of Fairfax. We the residents are on top. The School System exists to serve the residents to the best usage of its resources. Surely, we can’t get everything we ask for, but our collective opinions should be the biggest weight in deciding what is done.

Boss? No.

Stakeholder? Yes.

Parent involvement very high at Navy School.

You vote and can share your input with the school board. That is the extent of your role as “boss” of the schools. It’s crazy how people can say with a straight face that they “pay your salaries.” - not a teacher.

Boss? No.

Stakeholder? Yes.

Parent entitlement very high at Navy School.

Fixed that for you. I’m a Navy parent and I’ve seen how incredibly rude some parents are when asking questions of the superintendent and the new principal at meetings. Multiple people in our neighborhood who work for FCPS said the new principal’s biggest challenge would be dealing with the parents when they heard about the hire.

Where do teacher salary come from?

Tax payer.

So the tax payer do pay the salary, but teacher not directly accountable to the tax payer.

It no different that customer of company and worker salary.

Customer always right?

Your reasoning and your writing are very poor. Schools are not a business. You fund government with your taxes but you do not supervise government employees employees.
