Kind of hard for the Miranda camp to say he's not a serious candidate when the TEACHERS endorse him over her.

This is a big deal.

Are they really surveying teachers to decide who to endorse? This is the same AEA whose president embezzled a ton of money, right?

Oh sure attack the teachers. That's a good look for the Miranda camp.

Bottom line, the teachers have spoken and it sure is embarrassing to Miranda.

AEA's endorsement process does not include a vote by its teacher members. It is determined by a committee that interviews each candidate.
It is not a sign that "teachers have spoken."

Keep trying to minimize the voices of the teachers. It's not a good look for you. They can speak for themselves AND THEY DID.

NP and an AEA member but not on The PAC that votes to endorse. This is embarrassing and making me question if AEA is really prepared to lead us. And we need strong leadership for collective bargaining. If nothing else, we should have stayed out of it rather than endorsing a 22 yo with no connection to Arlington. Will he even serve out his term? SMDH.

There! Thank you PP.
PPP, told you this isn't a vote of the membership and therefore it is not necessarily the voice and will of the majority of teachers. There's no way of knowing how many teachers within AEA actually support Angelo or agree with this endorsement. Therefore, the endorsement is not the strong statement you think it is.

Yep a committee of TEACHERS that INTERVIEWED each candidate and like what they heard from Angelo and not Miranda.

A COMMITTEE. Some of whom are not actively teaching in classrooms. Not the broad membership. A handful of various educators playing the political part of AEA. Did those 6 (or whatever # handful of) committee members solicit the input of the other teachers after conducting the interviews and sharing the responses with them? NO.

I went to Drew today to vote and Angelo wasn’t there to campaign/answer questions. No one else was stumping for him either. Makes me wonder whether he truly cares about the job.

Yup. Miranda was outside and what seemed like every candidate for county board was there on the way out, but no Angelo. I wonder if he regrets putting his name in at this point.

The committee endorsement was mostly about being pro-union, so that is very focused on one specific issue, and AEA just voted to unionize.

Also did not see Angelo at Drew today.

See on Miranda's website that she has the endorsement of the head of the Arl Dems' labor caucus.

I didn’t see him there either when I went around mid day.

The Kid can't be bothered to show up for his own election? Just like he can't be bothered to show up for the advisory committees he joined this school year?

He did already try to quit once. Not sure what the plan is if he wins the endorsement since there’s no way he’s showing up for those long meetings and working groups, much less office hours and appearances at school events.

If he wins he’ll just quit and then ACDC can just handpick a successor without an election. Same thing they did when Takis first joined the county board.

Honestly that works for me. I don't like either candidate.

+1. New reason to vote for Angelo.

MT is the only grownup in this race and that is not a knock on her opponent’s age. You can dislike her and APE all you want but she is the only competent person in this race. Hope for Angelo and pray he drops out but that won’t happen. This is too important. Don’t be like the protest voter who voted for the libertarian or trump as a protest vote.

Yes. Let’s not “Hilary” MT.

You mean don't be like the APEs who voted for Youngkin?
