2023 Oscar fashion thread!

She takes chances, has a 2 month old, and they were only at the VF party - not the Oscars. So I don't dislike it as much as I should.

Ha so true. This color is so pretty though!

Such a class look on a stunning woman. Outclassed Cara D in every way possible!!!

Errrm, no, this looks like a lot of TJ Maxx/Marshall’s dresses from the late 2010s. Seriously, the “random O ring on dresses” look is not Oscar-worthy. This looks like Macy’s sale rack. Hard pass. Cara D’s look, while it wasn’t my favorite, was at least in the ballpark.

Not even close. Cara D looks Fugly. Melanie exudes class.

I adore Melanie but that is one cheap-looking, unfortunate dress.

Agree, this is a miss.

This is not the Oscars, it's the NAACP Awards. I think someone posted it to compare the similarities in her bust line to the dress Allison Brie wore to the Oscars after party.

she has been skipping awards season (but at fashion events). But she has remarkable red carpet presence. I posted that pic earlier when a pp noticed someone else trying to pull off a similar weird suspended breast cup holders.

She looks good (hair, makeup all great, the silhouette of the dress is really nice) but there is something very uncomfortable about this.

Does no one else see Mickey Mouse with this dress. I really don’t like it. The weird cutouts are like the update to cold shoulders. They make no sense and seem like lazy fashion design—make a dress more edgy or sexy by cutting a bit hole in it.

Not PP but yes. I love the drama of the flower and I love the sequins are in the gunmetal shade -- it's unusual and interesting. Also fits her like a glove. I think the red lip and the messy hair is a perfect accompaniment.

Again, this is one of the after party looks, she wasn't at the ceremony. Different standard, different goals. She wants to grab attention, get her picture in the fashion pieces about the event, and also make an impact on producers/directors/agents/other decision makers at the event. This strikes me as a total success in that respect.

A better photo of Sharon Stone's dress where you can see the true color better (it looked a little pea green in the other one posted). I think she looks sooooo good here, like I can't get over it. Her makeup looks fantastic, too, and she's one of those people who can really pull off that slicked back hair look (too many people who should be attempting it did last night).

She looks so good I wonder if she has a project coming up or wants to have a project coming up. This looks... resurgent.

+1 That’s what I’ve been trying to get my fine, straight hair to do all my life and it will never happen. She’s almost pulling off this dress, too.

I think the giant dramatic flower would have been better with an updo instead of the messy hair.

Anonymous wrote:Pretty standard for CB but she literally NEVER looks bad. One of those people who knows her body, her face, her public image, the specific image she's selling for a particular role, and just executes it really well every single time. I am trying to think of a true red carpet "miss" from her and coming up empty. I don't love them all but she always looks gorgeous and stands out in a very specific-to-her way.
