ECNL numbers are up from last year. The GA continues it's rise to nowhere. Keep eating the crap your GA club director's are feeding you.

2024 GA had over 700 college commitments. 2025 and 2026 are even more.

https://girlsacademyleague.com/class-of-2024/

Stats monkey is purposely posting manipulated data that makes ECNL look favorable. Last year it was D1 now is P4 next year it will be colleges that start with the letter R.

If you don't understand that all "D1" aren't equal I don't know what to tell you. I'm more impressed by the academic D3s and guess who leads those as well.

I dont care either way. What I'm highlighting is the the ECNL fanboy is posting stats that back his beliefs.

When you look at the number of GA commitments as a whole its pretty amazing what they've been able to do in such a short time.

Also P4 is not always the best solution for players. Typically coaches at that level will replace you in a heartbeat if they find somehting "better". Unless you want to go pro maybe thats not the right environment to be in. Even if you want to go pro maybe making the jump early is better than dealing with college politics.

So, not caring too much about this overall - that is the whole GA v. ECNL narrative and who is better at placing players in colleges, I still care enough to say the following. In order of importance in terms of getting committed to a college: 1) Player 2) Club 3) National Platform. The clubs at GA that are placing players consistently were top clubs at DA so it's not surprising to me that they have continued to march along regardless of their national platform. I don't see this as being an overall success of GA versus the players and clubs themselves. Same thing with ECNL. Players matter. The clubs matter and ECNL being the platform that allows them exposure matters the least IMO. Top players will find their way to clubs that will allow them to reach their goals whether it's at GA or ECNL...

IDK, I follow along the mentioned accounts because my DD went through this this past year and I used it for what it was, a reference point. I didn't take what was posted as the end all be all of things. At the end of the day with college and soccer, it really matters that your kid ends up at a place where they are able to get their education, feel valued as a player and person and are able to reach their goals. Good Luck!

What bugs me about the ECNL hats is they coattail off the successes of the top clubs in their league. NVA clubs are not placing "P4" players consistently. Yet this is what you hear. Its just not true and more importantly its not what most players want or end up doing even if they're able.

You’re wrong. Pepperidge farm knows.
FVU hasn’t had any 26 or 27 P4 commits. Arlington has a couple. VDA is the only in NOVA currently doing so consistently.

And how about local GA? How many at TSJ? Alex? LS?

GA promoters act like it’s ascension is inevitable and when you ask why they say MLSN. I think that’s very telling. They don’t say why GA itself is better in some way to justify their view, but instead that it just gives you access to a new league for the boys side.

GA is still new to the area and hasn’t been around long, so give it time. The fact that you’re this focused on GA says a lot—GA is clearly living rent‑free in your head. A confident ECNL club wouldn’t be this worried about GA and MLS Next.

NVA has a 26 and a 27, so similar to Arlington.

NVA had way more than Arlington.

How significantly will Pipeline Soccer Club be affected by Coppermine securing MLS NEXT Homegrown status? I think it could substantially weaken their position, and their brand may gradually lose relevance—even with their high‑end Capelli uniforms lol. I don’t feel much sympathy for Pipeline SC, because they had a clear opportunity to move out of ECNL and transition into MLS NEXT and GA, but they waited a year too long.

And Arlington—if you’re paying attention—you might want to learn from this. Waiting too long to make the jump can come back to haunt you. Keep an eye on what’s happening in the Baltimore area; it’s a perfect example of what happens when a club hesitates while others move forward.

And MLSN hasn't even started to flex on MLSN clubs with ECNL Girls getting them to switch to GA which we all know is coming.

Again arguing from the boys side. No reason why GA is intrinsically better itself, but if you care more about the boys…

Why would MLSN care about the split clubs? They already have the boys teams.

Hate to break it to you, but that announcement is more symbolic than anything. Very few actual substantial changes have happened since it was announced.

100% truff but the GA cult will still huff and puff and prance around like the ECNL is on its last leg

New tactic. We don't have to huff and puff any more. We just sit by and wait quietly as the ECNL world slowly looses steam and much like a frog being boiled to death without realizing it, we are just watching the overly confident parents, continue to stay where they are at and say, "everything is fine. This is fine."

I have no dog in this fight and frankly would prefer to have two competitive options on the girls side, but think this is a little bit of a pipe dream when GA is a girls league and its best selling point is access to a boys league. MLSN may create some hydraulic pressure for GA but GA needs to step up its game in its own right for this to happen. Right now, if ECNL ever feels the pressure they can just let go of the requirement to have both sides in the league. Right now I think they are happy to be smaller and more “elite” (shall we say) while evidence suggests GA is over expanding beyond the talent pool of you look at the disparity from the top to bottom of the tables, at least in the mid-Atlantic. No one want to be in a “national” level league where half your game are uncompetitive blow outs.

ECNL has significantly more teams than GA does. Elite yes, but smaller no. There are plenty of trash ECNL teams out there across the country

no it doesn't. they are pretty even, maybe 1 or 2 difference. stop spreading disinformation
