that's just ..... wow

Maybe they are hoping that players will just go there from other clubs and the teams will be created. I'm sure they aren't banking on Reston's teams to create the teams. No 03 as stated, 04s & 02s aren't even at the top of their age group in NCSL. Is there a link to the announcement? Reston doesn't seem capable of supporting this.

Holy cow....what don't you people get...it's not about the club.....it's about the platform and facilities.....the talent comes from the surrounding area and beyond

The coaching staff will still be from Reston unless they get some "A" license staff from outside. Not sure many talented girls will leave well respected clubs to play in GDA under Spirit name with so many unknowns. I personally know nothing about Reston so I couldn't speak on their facilities. It just doesn't appear to have a solid foundation of talent to work off of to support this endeavor. USSF would never approved this membership without the Spirit name. What is the Spirit really bringing to the table other than we are the NWSL.

Summer is when I find the chance to give my boys creative training. But--their FAVORITE thing to do---even if they had soccer camp during the day---is to go to the turf park for pick-up games with kids of all ages, nationalities and abilities. It's near impossible to drag them home and it is a lit field---so in summer it is pretty late. It's comical to watch and the kids will pull out all of their craziest moves and celebration dances---sometimes a scuffle breaks out. Last summer, I watched my younger child, tiny 8-year old, beat up the kid that kept running behind the other kids and sliding into their ankles. All the kids had told him to stop about 10 times (his mother in Spanish even) and it took the littlest guy on the field to put an end to it. Nobody batted any eye (even the few parents watching). I think his mother actually clapped. That is how it goes in true pick-up . I have invited a few mothers from our neighborhood to tag along but they have never come back because they think it is "too rough". I actually bring my kids there for this reason--ha. My kids are often the only gringos.

Sounds great. Which field is this?

DA in Virginia looks solid

Reston (spirit)
Loudoun and Fcv (after current ecnl players flock back to ECNL clubs)
Pwsi-Vsa-Chantilly (VDA)

This hasn't panned out well for DA

You must be the one not getting it since you just repeated what I stated but trying to act like an A**. As someone else already pointed out but you clearly must not get, not many fields and coaching staff may not be what is expected for VDA.

No...I get it. Do you kow how many fields FCV owns ..ZERO...they own ZERO fields......yet has some of the best kids is NOVA....

my point is....the league platform draws the talent not the club. If FCV didn't have ECNL they wouldn't even exist

Fcv don't have ECNL anymore. They have whatever this is. My daughter is on an FCV ECNL group. We have already reached out to Braddock. In fact 3-4 of our current group have reached out to them.

My daughter as well...I dont think they anticipated people leaving

So FCV and Reston are on equal grounds with the start of the DA? Comparing the two based on fields is very silly. I know they have access to quality facilities. Reston didn't even have the resources to post this announcement on their own website when the partnership became public. Seems like the Spirit have bungled this opportunity. No offense to Reston but they aren't going to have talent flicking there to fill the four teams.
