Vienna and Great Falls kids both go to Langley. Langley are many many miles away, but they are community, not with Reston, not with Herndon.

And they are costing $$$$ in gas, buses, drivers, etc. to the rest of the system.

That does not solve overcrowding at Chantilly, Westfield, Centreville, or Oakton.

Magnet do.

If it is Magnet, everybody in west will compete to get in Skyview.

If it is traditional, everybody fight to stay.

Nobody wants the school unless it is Magnet.

That paid higher tax, so they paid for themselves. You did not pay for that.

When FCPS is willing to continue to bus kids such a long distance to Langley it tells the Oakton parents whose kids travel a long but shorter distance that they are absolutely within their rights to define their community as those currently zoned to Oakton and to fight reassignment to any other school.

In fact, if they don’t do so, they’ll send the message their school isn’t worth fighting over, which will damage its reputation even if they don’t get moved.

You can thank the cowards on the School Board for rewarding and reinforcing these behaviors.

This not true. Stop talking nonsense.

You obviously do not live in the area being considered. The area wants a traditional school.

Turn it into a standalone secondary CSS site. House Cat B, ID/IDS, ED, and the AIM programs at the school. There's already separate facilities that could be divided up by grade level.

It wouldn’t be irrational to set the Skyview boundaries as Coates, McNair, Floris, Oak Hill, and Fox Mill, and do it expeditiously. Maximum enthusiasm for Skyview. Then look at Oakton in 2030 and if it’s still overcrowded move Crossfield to South Lakes. Shut them up for a while, put them in the oldest trailers available if Oakton is overcrowded, and then bundle a boundary change with other changes in the next county-wide review.

No. That is not what’s already been decided.

Fcps purchases Skyview since Coates, McNair, Floris, Oak Hill have been persuaded the county they need/want a HS, plus Coates and Chantilly Centreville are overcrowding.

FCPS has to do boundary rezoning due to the purchase of Skyview.

That is where the anger and resistance of Chantilly, Centreville and Oakton are from.

The whole county residents paid for Coates, McNair, Floris, Oak Hill, the school they want/need. We have a school now.

The rest of the elementary schools within Chantilly Centreville Oakton did not ask for Skyview. They all wish Coates, McNair, Floris, Oak Hill kids could enjoy school by themselves.

Fake premise as there are parents at both Fox Mill and Crossfield who’d welcome the opportunity to send their kids to Skyview. Not everything has to be based on unanimous approval; if it were, nothing would ever get done.
