Travel Soccer teams around NOVA let's discuss

This is the schedule for EDP for the spring. You can see who is in the league. The DMV is the "South" Division. The 1st division is the top division.

The Laurel Lions will take the bracket in EDP 04 South.

Seems to be very independent especially with the geographical distance of teams/clubs. Are clubs putting in their top teams? If individual team focus, why would one team choose to participate in EDP?

EDP is very independent in this area. Some clubs use EDP as a supplemental league at U12 because there has been an 11v11 division. Some clubs will use this to prepare for that transition. Some clubs simply want to challenge their team against different opponents.

For this area, DMV, EDP is a little fast and loose but the Jersey and other mid Atlantic clubs that play in it are good clubs and teams and is their NPL.

This is helpful. Other opinions are also welcome.

Is betting on 04 soccer allowed? If so, I'll take that bet! : )

Is there any kind of ranking for Super Y teams? DD could go with a couple different ones. Looks like Vienna has team this summer too.

No and it is impossible to rank Super Y teams as there is no consistency from year to year.

I meant to say consistency between rosters from year to year.

Agreed, for Super Y, find the best combination of convenience, decent coaching and friends. Don't worry about the competitive level.

For $500-$600, I would expect the kids and parents to take it a little more seriously than you are implying.

Super Y has killed this whole thread....that's how serious it is

Its a Summer league in this area...some teams out of the DMV have year round teams and usually win the National Championship every year. We do it because our club team takes a couple of months off and it is ball touches, usually 2 practices a week and 8-12 games a season. But more importantly it has been a really fun team the past 2 years with players that will eventually play High school together.

Our club holds non-mandatory street-style pick/up scrimmages with some skills ahead of time July-August summer evenings so we don't do Super Y.

We vacation 3 weeks and there are 2-3 soccer camps my kids love.

That's awesome. Perfect fit for the summer. Fun and developmental.
