You absolutely need a shuffleboard table. It will calm your mind after the jangliness of that thing and pinball. It’s a lot like curling. I do it every day on my own as a form of meditation. The rest of my family does it competitively, but I have no interest.

I’m all about the shoes. It’s the thrill of the hunt, so i like to find things on sale and hunt for them and sometimes they’re even cheap, but they’re crazy and unusual and colorful and i don’t wear them nearly often enough to justify having so many. When I get stressed, I buy shoes. The search process is like meditation for me.

I'm new to this, but recently upgraded legs on a flight and now I fear I cannot go back.

DH and I also stay in nicer hotels when we travel, justifying it to each other by noting we will either not be there again or at least not for a long time. Would much rather spend on nicer hotels than going out to fancy meals, so that also helps the justification.

I have realized that concerts are clearly part of my midlife crisis. They're my motorcycle.

Also, I was with friends with great seats yesterday, but sometimes I wish I were in the pit! I want to dance!!

Funny, we choose very utilitarian hotels so we can splurge on dinners out. Love all kinds of great food and wine.

The most I do is $100 on myself: some months it's stuff from The Real Real, others it's perfume micro bottles to sample several...I think how people spend money is interesting. It seems like so many people here are extremely wealthy so could easily splurge and save with great ease. We're not at that level.

I spend so much you would not believe, but I never buy stuff for myself for $100. I just don't buy stuff like that. Then when I have to buy clothes, it's usually a bunch at a time.
