Fun/stupid things you spend on

Spent $19K on a river cruise in France (it is for our 30th anniversary, that's my only justification)

The birthday party I really want to do is at one of those ropes course places that would cost me about 1500 if my kid invited everyone he wanted to. I'm not doing it because that is ridiculous, but I kinda want to.

Does getting nails done, eybrows and lashes dyed and underarms and bikini waxes count as frivolous spending?

Do it! You and he will remember the party forever! My kids are grown and I'd go back in a heartbeat to relieve any of my kids' birthday party days.

Nats world series games, losing all home games, but worth it. Business class travel overseas (no points, actual $$$).

I will spend ridiculous amounts of money to be as close to front row/court side as possible if my favorite team or artist is playing at Cap One. This is my one and only splurge. The venue is local and I just hop on the metro to get there so I will spend $$$$$$$ on the tickets. No travel required.

I’ve ended up on tv a few times during sports games because my seats are usually right there in front. Once I had pulled my kids from school to go with me to an afternoon march madness game and we ended up on tv over and over again and we got busted. Was hilarious.

Life is too short to drink crappy booze. For years I bought good/moderately priced/expensive bottles and didn't open them. Now I am in a decumulation phase and drinking lots of them. Selling others because of the absurd appreciation - some have got up 500%-700%.

Flower subscription from a local flower farm. I get weekly bouquets delivered from April through September.

For me, its Disney cruises with my kids. I'm trying to go twice a year, every year while they are little enough to love it.

I also get my nails done every two weeks.

Funny. Some of the same stuff. I love LEGO more now as an adult than when a kid. Bought a bunch of sets. Have the Porsche 911 set in the queue.

Classic Car fits the bill. 1960 Corvette specifically. It was my Dad's and there's tons of memories associated with it. Drive it sporadically, takes up garage space, there's money for upkeep, but it's just so much more than that.

I’m low maintenance, don’t get my nails done, do my own coloring, barely buy new clothes.

But once a month I get a massage and it’s honestly more for physical health than mental health and yet I still feel guilty.

This thread makes me think I need to take care of myself better.

I've never had a dog before and I've never done 23andMe or Ancestry for myself but shortly after we adopted our dog last year I got her a dog DNA test. Now I want to get another brand to compare!

We routinely fly our small child in first class. Including domestic.

Do embark! It’s the only one that is really legit. There is a fun subreddit called r/dnamydog if you want to play guess the breed
