When will Fairfax County residents learn that Descano is bad news?

Fairfax County will always elect a Democrat. So other voters' opinions do not matter.

FAIRFAX, Va. — A Fairfax County judge on Thursday accepted a plea agreement finding a man not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2022 shooting death of a charitable organization CEO, a decision that sparked immediate outrage from the victim’s family.
Joshua Danehower, 37, who was charged with the murder of Gret Glyer, will move from a jail cell to a mental health facility rather than facing a criminal trial or prison time. The ruling followed a plea agreement reached between defense attorneys and prosecutors after clinicians from both sides determined Danehower was legally insane at the time of the killing.

The courtroom was so crowded with Glyer’s supporters that officials were forced to relocate the proceedings to a larger room. Those in attendance listened as Danehower told the judge he "didn't possess the right mindset" due to his mental health when Glyer was killed in bed.
Glyer, the founder and CEO of the donation platform DonorSee, was shot 10 times while he slept in bed next to his wife on June 24, 2022. The couple's two young children were also in the home at the time of the attack.
"Justice is not served today," Silvia Glyer, the victim's mother, said outside the courthouse. "An evil man took his life in the middle of the night. A coward. Somebody who planned step by step a murder and who is backed up by the justice system in Virginia."
According to the prosecutor, the killing was the result of a fixated obsession. Danehower reportedly became obsessed with Glyer’s wife after seeing her at a church function. Family members noted the two had gone on a date a decade earlier, and Danehower allegedly sought to reconnect.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office stated that Danehower had authored a murder plot titled "The Plan" before carrying out the shooting. The prosecutor also said he had a gun a lock-picking kit.
This premeditation was a focal point for the Glyer family, who argued the Commonwealth’s Attorney failed to pursue a conviction despite the evidence.
"He admits to this and yet he's using his mental health problems as an excuse to avoid any punitive punishment for his crimes, and that is not right," said Gizan Glyer, the victim’s sister. "When there is no punishment for a premeditated murder, there's no hope in the criminal justice system."

Sounds like this was the right decision

So? You think these people that Descano is allowing to walk free after committing violent crimes stay in Fairfax County?

You don't really care, you're only here pushing your agenda

DP, but if the agenda is not letting dangerous illegal immigrant criminals out on the street to commit crimes I think the vast majority of people would be on board with such an agenda. This guy should have been on his way back to El Salvador.

Different person: I agree 100%.

Descano needs to be voted out!

If we vote Descano out, Trump wins. Is that what you want?

Good grief. It is not about Trump. It is about getting dangerous illegal aliens out of the county and country. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

+1 HOW are people this insane?

They need to sue and bankrupt the county.

Descano should be sued into oblivion by the family of Ms Minter.

🚨NEW: According to emails I obtained, Fairfax County police didn't warn Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano's office once, but at least three times last year about a violent illegal immigrant who is now charged with murdering a Virginia mother. And what did Descano's office do? Drop charges and let the man return to the community.

"Unfortunately, based on MTV Station’s numerous dealings with him, it is not a question of if, but rather when he will maliciously wound (or worse) again. My role of keeping the public safe, prompts me to follow up on his status," a police Major told Descano's office in November.

In May, FCPD told Descano's office, "This individual has a long history of stabbing community members and is currently on probation for doing that very thing. He has shown a blatant disregard for human life and is a danger to the community."

Why was this person not removed from the country? What was ICE doing?

Unfortunately, Biden let millions of these people into the country, so it’s going to take a while for ICE to round them all up. Meanwhile, Descano and Spanberger and friends are doing all they can to protect the criminals, so it’s going to take longer than it might have otherwise.

The Sherriff could hold illegals she knows would be taken into custody by ICE, but she won't do so under most circumstances unless the County is also prosecuting them. In this case, even though Descano refused to act, the Sheriff could have held the illegal for ICE but elected not to and released him. She shares culpability along with the Board of Supervisors and their liberal policy positions which set the tone for County government.

Isn't the Sheriff a Republican? Maybe not MAGA, but not a Dem if memory serves.

Murder is not a federal crime. It just isn’t. And a federal judicial warrant is not a thing for state crime. This whole step Spamberger is saying they should do is BS and she knows most of you don’t know that and will mindlessly repeat her. A federal court won’t grant a judicial warrant unless then crime in question is federal.

You fully missed the point. Yes, Descano has failed us. But Fairfax police and co7 ty aren’t to blame for ICE failures. They could have deported this guy but they didn’t do the work.

I believe the Police told Descano that the guy who murdered the Teacher would commit another violient crime. They said it wasn’t an “if” it was a “when.” Descano needs to be recalled because he just doesn’t care about us. He just doesn’t.

No you are not understanding. This step that Spanberger wants them to go through does not exist for those that haven’t been accused of committing a federal crime. So the step just doesn’t exist. She is putting ICE in the position they were in in Minnesota where the only way they can get these bad guys is to sit outside the jail or courthouse and arrest them as they walk out and you KNOW that is going to cause riots. Maybe that is what the governor wants.

There’s been a litany of failures from Descano’s office. I genuinely don’t understand why we have a prosecutor who refuses to prosecute.

They were told Stephanie Minter’s killer would hurt someone, but they let him go.

Gret Glyer’s killer plotted his murder, snuck in his house, and shot him as he slept next to his wife. Not guilty by reason of insanity.

Let Andres Jaldin out of jail. He tried to kidnap a random toddler from a mall three days later.

Dropped charges for home invasion and abduction of a 4 year old against Hyrum Rodeuiquez. A judge refused to sign off on a too-lenient plea deal, so Descano just didn’t prosecute the case instead.

Released Marvin Ortiz from jail, only for him to murder someone the next day.

All these cases from the last year alone!!! It’s absurd!!

Shouldn’t she know if the step does not exist, as a former federal agent?
