Me too. So sad.

My probation is one year, but I’ve worked at agencies where it is two years.

Your official HR hiring documentation will say if you are on probation. The probation is one year.

What is "official HR hiring documentation"? USAJOBS job announcement?

Me too. How the heck am I supposed to work tomorrow? I’ve worked for the feds for 20 years but just switched agencies. Darn.

At my agency you would be on a new probationary period. I just became a manager (same office I’ve been working for 15 years) and I was told that I am on a probationary period for one year. WTF??

You’re not probationary as a fed, just as a supervisor. If you don’t pass probation, they’d have to put you back in your non supervisory or similar role.

That doesn't mean you're probationary just because you switched agencies. In fact, it's normal to just have one probationary period, although some agencies make everyone (transfers and new hires) go through a probationary period. You should check.

Then you should not have had to start a new probationary. Period.

Which box on SF-50 says you're probationary or not?

Ugh. 6 months to go for me (excepted). At least my reviews are 5s/exceed and I got a quality increase. I like my job, don't want to go back to a law firm

The memo only asks for people on probation with less than one year of service in the competitive service.
You still have civil service protections based on your time in so you can’t be part of a mass action.

I wouldn't freak out about this. This gives heads of agency lots of leeway to keep people on probation that are doing great. If I was on probation and not doing so hot, I'd be worried.

I looked, and it's not on there. There's only the box that says conditional or permanent.
