I read the detailed charges of what was done to Russell and Eve, the two youngest, and she's the biggest POS mother. Terrible! I wish we had an eye-for-an-eye justice for cases like this.

When I heard her lawyer filed for a waiver of preliminary hearing, I knew she had reached a plea deal. I expected the 6 felony charges to be reduced to the highest misdemeanor in exchange for a guilty plea, so I was pleasantly surprised to see she's still getting 4 felony counts of 2nd degree child abuse, and only the 2 felony malnourishment charges were dropped.

I do not think she will do more than 6 years in prison, if that, sadly.

I know someone who was in a cult growing up as a child (birth to age 19) and they still have deprogramming issues in their 30s. I find it hard to believe that her switch to see the light has been flipped this quickly with so little time away from Jodi's spell.

I cannot wait to see what comes out now that Ruby has seemingly flipped on Jodi. I bet $20 she's going to admit to some sort of sexual relationship.

She needs to get more than 6 years. She’s a disgrace. How someone could watch a child suffer like that, let alone their own child is beyond me.

Anonymous wrote:This is the YouTube mom who was investigated a few years ago for admitting on camera that she made her son sleep on a beanbag chair for months because he lost the privilege of having a bed. Among other transgressions- sending said son to wilderness camp, invading her 6 kids privacy for YT clicks, etc. Her channel was, at one time, insanely popular and this was very controversial.

With very few exceptions I think YouTube family vloggers are scummy, but this one in particular got caught up in a nasty cult and it apparently culminated in one of her children climbing out of a window to get help. The children were malnourished and the escapee had duct tape on her ankles. Arrests have been made and CPS is (obviously) involved.

Bound with duct tape and malnourished is an entirely different level of abuse.

Glad she is going to prison. Hope it’s the worst prison out there!

Jodi seemed to have sort of brainwashed Ruby. It’s definitely a strange dynamic but they were not having an affair together.

They were in a romantic relationship, that’s why Ruby left her husband and was living with Jodi, in Jodi’s house. 2 of Ruby’s minor children were living in Jodi’s house as well.

Jodi was arrested because she was not only a business partner, but also intimately involved with Ruby and “helping” with disciplinary duties of Ruby’s minor children- which resulted in horrific child abuse.

Jodi has a panic room in her home under the garage. It seems they often locked the children in the panic room. I hope both women get locked up for a very, very long time.

Correct. Franke and Hildebrandt are a couple, as in, lovers.

She was just sentenced to a term of imprisonment for between four and 60 years in a Women’s maximum security prison.

Husband pushed for the max

It doesn't seem like they were separated for that long. Why wasn't the husband charged with anything? Secondly, even if they were separated, he knew what was going on, and by allowing them to be with her was, in my view, pretty condemning. How did he get off scott-free?

Male privilege in Utah?

That's what I wnat to know! Why wasn't the husband also charged if the abuse was going on while they were still together.

Pictures of the two Franke children were released recently - they are sickening. Something came to me as clear as day, I need to get more serious about not consuming internet content with children in it. I’ve slowly stopped watching a lot of this content over the years. I’ve known it’s exploitative and unethical. But I’d still watch funny videos on tik tok and follow families on Instagram. I think children are funny and adorable. But kids are not content. It’s not ethical, there aren’t enough protections in place. These kids deserve privacy and peace. Being a human is hard enough without strangers and even predators watching. I hate that my past viewership of family channels supported abusive situations like this one. I hope the Franke children have good therapists. I hope more people wake up to their own casual attitudes towards this issue. Protect kids, scroll past any content that includes them.

Those immoral women (the site does not allow me to call the the B-word) had a pantry full of food. The Ring video of the boy asking neighbors for help - his legs... i just started crying.

Both of the italicized are unconfirmed rumors - and the panic room one is likely wrong. The whole thing is horrific, but lets stick to the facts as far as we know them.

It was not wrong. I don’t know if this pp was someone who is a friend or family member of these AWFUL, ABUSIVE, DISGUSTING CHILD ABUSERS, but they sure were invested in defending these terrible women.

These child abusing monsters were abusing the kids and locking them in a safe.

My daughter is the same age as Shari and used to love watching 8 Passengers. I would often watch with her. She lost interest around the time they started doing the Connexions cult with Jodi (if I understand the timeline correctly). I am very interested in the pathology of Ruby and how this all spiraled- pre-Jodi, she just seemed like a strict, conservative Mormon mother...not my style, but I never got abusive monster vibes from her. The kids were very cute, well-spoken, didn't seem scared of her or Kevin, the family seemed bonded. Was the abusive side always latent within her? Was the brainwashing by Jodi that powerful?

The parents were separated.

The 2 women were in an intimate relationship.

Didn’t know this part!

The quote says they were business partners. Where did it say they were dating?

They slept in the same bed. The husband reported that they'd be in there and emerge very happy after seeing their "visions."
