Why don't black women just patiently wait and grow their own hair instead of going the the weave, wig and fake straight hair route?
The weaves, wigs and fake hair just look terrible. Am I the only one who feels this way? |
|
You clearly don't understand Afro-textured hair at all. It's not just about waiting patiently for their own hair to grow. Some women who wear weaves have long natural hair. I get my hair braided every summer to protect it while I go to the beach and my own type 4 hair is bra strap length.
I suggest you educate yourself before speaking publicly, albeit anonymously. |
| White women wear weaves (extensions) too. As do Latinas and Asian women. I'm sure that shocking for your simple mind. |
| How about we leave Black women to do as they see fit with their hair and not impose our views? |
| Get a life, OP. |
Bad weaves don't discriminate
|
| You usually don't see non-celebrity white woman wearing extensions or wigs (unless they're recovering from chemo). I was shocked when I first started working in my office and noticed the number of black women who wear wigs. Some look great, others look so fake, it's funny. |
| I'm white, but from what I understand, AA hair is very complicated. Unless they splurge on expensive and damaging chemical treatments, they have to resort to other methods to obtain a style that is considered part of typical business attire. |
| Nobody is this blatantly ignorant and racist, so clearly you're just trying to stir the pot, OP. Go away. |
Yes you are. Why did you really ask this question OP? What was the goal? What type of responses were you hoping for? |
Get over your obsession with black women's hairstyles, OP. |
| I have not seen a trend in AA hairstyles. I see everything. As someone with super straight hair, I have no earthly clue why anyone would want it! I would be wearing a natural Afro because I deeply love them. But I learned from my college room mate that AA is really complicated and time consuming. The braids are a huge commitment of time. But I am not offended by hair weaves in the least. It seems like you are looking for something to be offended by, OP! |
Yes, you are the only who feels this way. Keep in mind white, Hispanic, and even Asian women also wear extensions and wigs. |
Here is your problem, you see a black woman with straight hair and you assume a weave. You see a white woman with straight hair and you assume it must be her own. Unless it is a bad job or you see someone with short hair one day and long the next how do you know who does or doesn't have a weave or wig. But more importantly, why do you care. |
This would be false. |
