Men don't really prefer younger women

Young women between the ages of 18-25 are without a doubt the most physically attractive specimens of the female population at any given time. It is then a no brainier that a heterosexual man would an active libido would find women from this age group the most attractive. Men best have a shot at pairing with and mating with girls this age when they themselves are around the same age. Indeed, most men pair up with and end up eventually marrying the girls they met when they were within a few years of that approximate age range.
After this, there are always stories about older men in their 30s, 40s and 50s + if and when single, scrambling to have a shot at women aged 18-25ish. It is especially stressed that a high value male, that is a man with a successful career and social status will always opt to go for a nuble 21 year old than a female more close to his age. In theory it makes sense, right? An attractive male making a beeline for the most attractive female available? Well, a look at the mating tastes of the world's arguably most desirable males says quite the contrary! Barack Obama, the president of the U.S. is the world's most powerful and by that estimate, the most desirable man. He is happily married to Michele, who is a mere 3 years younger than him. 
Prince William, is well, a real prince and was once the world's most eligible bachelor. He married Kate Middleton who is actually *gasp!* 6 months older than him! 
Speaking of royals, William's own father Prince Charles, also when given a choice, opted for a woman 2 years older than himself, Camilla Parker Bowles. He was wed to the much younger Diana and even had 2 children with her but then opted to spend his life with an older woman. 
Paul McCartney, was a freaking Beattle. He married Linda Eastman, a woman older than him. 
George Clooney, famed bachelor and womanizer married his first wife, Talia Balsam, when he was 28 and she was 30. 
Sure, he had a string of love affairs with gorgeous young women for years but the second time he walked down the aisle, he did with this lebanese beauty. 
At 37, she is much younger than him, sure, but her forte is more the international human rights legal field than shimmying in a tiny bikini on a yacht. |

Sam Taylor-Johnson is married to Aaron Taylor-Johnson (you'll notice he took her last name), who was more than twice his age when they met. Even though he is a big movie star and sex symbol, an "Avenger" who could have his pick of women his own age, he is married to Sam who is 24 years older than him. They have been together for several years now and look more blissful than ever. |

OP here.
Another personal crush and and desirable male was the late U.S. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke. A Washington favorite known as the most connected man in town, he literally had access to so many nubile young female Washington interns and congressional staffers. Instead, he had storied love affairs with smart and powerful women in Washington, ranging from Diane Sawyer to his window, Cati Marton.

OP - these are just a small sampling size you listed here.
IDK - when I see men married to much older women, like 10+ yrs, I think "he's looking for a mother figure". Maybe it's not true, but that's my impression. Same for younger women who marry much older men who don't have a lot of money. If the man does have a lot of money, of course I think "sugar daddy". Most politicians want a wife who will help them in their career, so the wife must be intelligent and most of the time, accomplished herself. Those types of women are usually older. If you took a sampling from hollywood or the entertainment field, I think you would see a lot more older men + younger woman, a la Hugh Hefner. |

Sure, but Hollywood types are not always really truly "high value mates" though, are they? Hugh Heffner hangs out with 21 year olds all the time, but he's hardly a a "worlds most influential" figure. |

| If the title of this thread were true, you wouldn't see countless rich and powerful men cheating on their spouses with much younger woman. Who you Marry isn't 100% representative of your preference. And besides a list of 20 people is not representative of the population. There are plenty of men married to younger woman, you failed to include those. |
