Not PP, but the 09s played some NOVA teams, the 08s did not.

GFR 2009 girls coach is the worst coach I have ever seen. I cannot believe she has not been fired. The way she screams at her players is horrific. I cannot believe the parents keep their kids on that team.

She used to coach at Herndon with maybe the 05s. She was terrible there too. To be clear, SHE is definitely a problem. Not sure it's fair to say that all of GFR is because of that. There are some singular bad coaches at a lot of places.

Not much to crow about in that score line. Also, if you follow the link for the 2008 results posted, you can see that’s the third GFR team.

I suppose DA parents of other clubs trolling GFR little girls teams is somehow classy and on topic in this thread now

That's true. Richie Burke had quite the reputation, Bobby isn't exactly a boy scout, and I've heard the 05 McLean exodus was over a nasty coach there too.

Yes, she coached the AC Cugini/Reston/Herndon 05 girls back in U9-U11. Team moved between three clubs in three years. Parents and players either loved her or hated her. She left Total Futbol and went to coach at GFR when the team left Reston for Herndon. Yes, read about Richie, but that’s all blown over now. Anyhow, interested ... how’s Bobby “not exactly a Boy Scout”? Do tell. Also, tell us about CZ, Gus, Marvin, Dave, Ricky, Jimmy, and others too. While you’re at it give us the scoop on George H., Spencer, Holly, etc. too.

I am the one who posted earlier. Ironically, this is the experience we had, the '09 girls. That coach is awful towards her players and it is very obvious she is a win at all costs coach. As for the parents, they were very vocal to the point it was awkward. I can only imagine how the parents and coach acted during the final as they lost to Arlington.

I would never have my DD play there as I cannot see how these girls would enjoy it and/or have fun but that is just our first impression. To play Devil's advocate, it was just one experience and I could be wrong. It is possible that she runs fun practices for the kids. The parents are supportive which means something.

Lastly, not trying to troll as we are on the Maryland side. I lurk here often and get a kick out of the parents/post here. Had to call out the GF/MU as everyone is so hard on FCV and Loudoun.
