Sure, they can throw that camo netting over it.

CNN reporting faint electronic pinging in Indian Ocean. They are widening the search area.

What an original thought... I think this was mentioned at least 10 times already.

Do you really think everyone is going to read through 500 posts? Don't be an ass.

Where would these terrorists find a giant runway ?

I'm thinking the OP who mentioned terrorists is thinking of abandoned runways in countries like Afganistan,Pakistan, Sudan, etc... Not well maintained or checked. I don't know much about clearing jungles but that could happen. Anywhere with a hangar ... Or who needs a hangar?

+2 No one shot the plane down, no terrorists involved. Some sort of malfunction occurred with tragic consequences.

I am thinking this was just another Payne Stewart type incident.

Something caused sudden decompression in the plane and everyone passed out within a few seconds, followed by death from lack of oxygen and hypothermia a few minutes later.

Modern planes have safety features that would allow this plane to keep going even if all the corpses on board were no longer at the controls.

If they were flying at night by instrument over open ocean, and the altimeter wasn't working, the plane could have ditched right in the ocean and the crew killed on impact. In the dark you don't have any visual references over open ocean.

This sounds the most plausible to me, too.

I agree with this, too.

a 777 is 200 feet long. That's got to be one large camo net.

Except that would mean Malaysia incorrectly retracted that it kept flying. Without knowing the truth on did it turn, did it keep flying, did it stop immediately ... there is no way to narrow anything down.

The information is just so here, there, and everywhere.

but why did it change course and turn toward the Indian Ocean where satellites have apparently picked up pings from the engine?

There are other targets for terrorism besides just the US.

A passenger jet could mimic or steal a recognized signature and sail into populated airspace to be used as a weapon. Yes, by a pilot who is willing to die. I recall that suicide pilots aren't that hard to come by.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Policy Committee, Hossein Naghavi, says that the U.S. hijacked Flight 370 in a plot to "sabotage the relationship between Iran and China and South East Asia".

I think the U.S. has known the whole time where it is, but didn't want to reveal how capable their technology is. I don't think it would have look all that great if the US were the ones to find the plane right away. Sorry if this has been mentioned already.
