It's fine with me if Republicans use the word "woke". Dictionary (slang) definition: "aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice) When Republicans talk about being woke, though, they use it, I think they are using it sarcastically, as if being aware and actively attention to important issues of racial and social justice isn't a positive thing to be. That's what's wrong. Not the use of the word, but the fact that they sneer at the concept and don't think it's important. Years ago, "politically correct" was just a term for being very inclusive and polite, trying earnestly not to offend anyone. Then it got used very sarcastically by people. "Woke" is the same thing. Kamala Harris in that clip, was just using the term "woke" in a non-sarcastic way. It's important to be "woke". It is! |

It's still OK for anyone to use the word if they want to, but since Republicans have really started mocking the word (and concept), I think an experienced campaigner such as Kamala probably would not use the word in an interview, certainly not as lightly and frequently as she did in that clip. Back in 2017 it didn't carry as much negative connotation. |

The title of this thread is misleading. Trump did not"agree" to anything. He is trying to set the terms.
There was an already scheduled debate that Kamala 100% plans to attend. Trump is trying to set the terms where a debate will be held at Fox entertainment before the already scheduled debate and if Kamala does not show up, he will then have an excuse to drop out of the pre-scheduled debate on ABC where he is already prepared to say "Kamala did not show up to the fox debate so I don't need to show up to the ABC debate" He is so transparent. The thing is, there should not ever be a debate on Fox entertainment. They were complicit with the 2020 election fraud lie. |
