So Indy beat Briar?!?
Does this set up Indy and Riverside for the regional game? Maxpreps never updated that region on the site.

When and where? need to get my popcorn ready for the fireworks!

He's an off putting kind of douche. Just business as usual.

There are two types of Loudoun lacrosse parents: those who have kids who play for Indy and those that wish they did.

As an Indy fan, I am super proud of our boys for pulling out a great win. All other Indy supporters, I would encourage you to stop giving Riverside bulletin board material. That is probably the last thing we need.

How about we recognize a great positive for LoCo... Saturday we have 2 players from Riverside playing against each other in the national semi final. Both are starters for their respective University. Danny Maltz, an attackmen for Maryland. John Schroter, a defenseman for UVA. Probably has never happened before in this county, that two public school kids will go head to head, on this big of a stage, and were high school teammates. Really cool.

Reading the general VHSL page and this one. It is VERY obvious that most posts are not from the parents of that specific team.

Really? What point is missed. Really cool that Riverside has two former teammates from Loudoun playing each other this weekend. Also of note: PVI has two former teammates who grew up in Loudoun that are currently on the roster at UMD and UVA who will also play. That is four Loudoun players of the same ages who will play each other this weekend which is also cool. Please explain your point that you think is missed in a thread titled "Loudoun High School Lacrosse" as both HS programs are in Loudoun County

Well, the original post said "public school kids"... soooooo thats the POINT! Way to go recruiting great players PVI, pat yourself on the back. Those two players stayed at their assigned public school and succeeded at the highest level. Its a great story.

Then he was laughing about it in the box when they were sorting out either an ejection or 2 min non releasable. The laughing and cuss word I heard then angered the Riverside coach. Which then prompted a meeting with both coaches and Indy and Riverside ADs. Not sure what was said. I saw the hit on NFHS stream and if that’s not an ejectable hit then I am not sure what is. Completely uncalled for and unsafe. Kind of ruined the end of the game and just left a sour taste throughout the stadium. Unfortunate situation.

I just watched it. It is pretty bad. Not surprising though. Team has no discipline.

Kid didn’t even have the ball. It was behind the play and to the head. That’s why I think it should have been ejectable it had nothing to do with the game. Does anyone know if that kid is ok? He tried to get up and then fell back down.

Went and watched this from the NFHS feed and you are overstating it a bit. Now I did not see it in person, BUT what I see is white (#1 or #7?) has the ball and just passed to another player to his left. #43 in Red comes from about 4 yards and hits him. It looks like he leads with the shoulder and hits the white shoulder high and his stick contacts the white players head. No audio of players so I cant comment on that.

Late hit/unsportsmanlike/ illegal body check- Yes
Blindside/defenseless player- No, player just made a pass and was hit from the front
Targeting- maybe but didn't seemed to be called so I defer to the crew that was there, judgement call inside of 5 yards.
Unintentional Cross to Head- Yes, 1 min non releasable. Now mandatory in this situation
Intentional Cross to Head (2minNR)- No, I see shoulder contact and stick slide up.
Curse word and or mouthing off- No audio so can't comment, but I did not see the crew throw another flag after the fact. If they hear it that would have been the case.

Final call in my book- Mandatory 1 min NR for body/cross contact to head neck. Possible 1 min for late hit, judgement call. Typically not going to stack these unless the teams were already warned and crew was trying to make a point.
I have seen much worse, this was not that late/defenseless and off ball as first presented above and how I read it. I don't see the need for an ejection or suspension.
However, definitely illegal and should not be part of the game.

It had nothing to do with the play. There is also context... 8 seconds to go in the game. He wasn't playing defense to stop a player from scoring... the ball is actually in another players stick when he hits the Riverside player. I also, don't see how you say it was only 4 yards, he has a running start and is fully committed to the hit regardless of the Riverside player having the ball or not.... Oh also, 8 seconds and counting left in the game... dont even say "he is playing until the final whisle" we all know that is BS.

Ma'am, I watched the play. I gave you the interpretation and I have no emotional tie to the game, context or outcome. You obviously do. BUT if you must:
8 seconds to go in the game- Irrelevant
He wasn't playing defense to stop a player from scoring- Defense is always played regardless if it is a scoring act.
the ball is actually in another players stick when he hits the Riverside player- as I agreed late, but not that late.
don't see how you say it was only 4 yards- i have eyes/tape and saw the start of the run at this point
fully committed to the hit regardless of the Riverside player having the ball or not- just not true, started at about 4 yards to commit to the hit, but yes running down field before that

the rule is whether you are within 5 yards of the ball, not running for x # of yards away. and the ball also has to be loose (ground or air), if you're hitting someone who doesn't have it.

PP dude broke it down before and did so fairly well. I watched too and it was about a second in time on the clock and he was not lined up or they would have called targeting.
Let it go already.

Damn you got there before I could reply, but at least someone can read a full post and get it.
And to the other poster, it is not a slam on PVI or UMD/UVA, but the OPs point is that itis much harder to get a spot on a top D1 team as a public school kid.
Also, there are plenty of kids at PVI that I do not consider "Loudoun kids". While they attend school at PVI in Loudoun, they are from outside the county, didn't play rec here, etc.
