Loudoun High School Lacrosse

If only hey could’ve played in the toughest bracket at fall brawl. Then they’d be a good team.

Heard they got absolutely destroyed. Supposedly they looked horrible...

Might be the worst team in Loudoun.

They did not post scores on the Sportsengine app. I wonder how bad it really was?

Prep 16-8. With Prep subbing early

Loomis 13-9 Riverside up at halftime then Loomis put in starters to make sure they didn’t lose

St. John’s. 6-3 at half with St. John’s playing mostly backups. Then Riverside put their backups in. Think it ended 14-5.

I just do not see any public school teams that are going to be as strong as most private schools. If i am wrong, please inform on who?

you can dump on Riverside if you like, but getting this experience and make them stronger when they play Briar Woods or whomever is their public school competition.

Why don't you inform us instead? 27 private school teams in the area (actually a couple more, but they played limited schedules).
Ireton would be #14 for "most" with a 75 rating at laxnumbers in 2024.
BI lost to Sidwell by 3, who played 2 VA publics and lost them both.
They got waxed against both Woodberry F and especially Heights, who lost and went to OT with VA publics, respectively.

I'm sure you could give us more comparators for common opponents with Ireton, I didn't dig through them all. Why don't you do that so you can inform us?

No hate for Ireton, am sure they all have a driving mission to be men for others or live as love would or some such. Just happened to be the squad in 2024 that allows Anonymous to "inform" us. When he gets around to it.

Anonymous wrote:On the girls side you can drop names in a hat and pick a winner. The county has been leaking talent the past two years. Not sure if kids just aren’t playing anymore or if soccer has hurt numbers given the two are Spring sports. Woodgrove has the top player, but not much of a supporting cast. Dominion will be way down, but all teams are much weaker this year, so they will still win their district.

Agree. Girls have been leaking to privates for a few years now. Visi, PVI, SSSAS etc. The leagues are much better and help prepare the players for playing in college. If playing in college isn’t a goal, it doesn’t make sense to pay the price tag unless there is another reason (academic curriculum, etc)

This is also happening with boys in Loudoun.

Several years ago Riverside had a boys team that competed with some of the private schools and graduated several D1 commitments but every year since they have been getting weaker in talent. Still have to beat them to win a state class 5 title.

Anyone go to the Turkey Shoot? What’s your assessment of those results? No surprises to me. For the most part the good teams are still the good teams.

I know that some good kids in Loudoun are going to play at Private Schools, but it does seem that lacrosse does not have the same excitement/energy as it did in years past.
