Jen Hatmaker

She seems lonely. If only her last book wasn't written about her living her true and authentic life...

That dead cat in her freezer was a metaphor for her entire life. Just holding on to remnants of dead things that no longer serve anyone anymore. She could do an entire podcast episode on that. Oh wait...first she'd have to actually let go of those things that don't serve her. And before that, she'd need to actually recognize who and what those things are. She's probably wasting so much time and energy spinning her wheels trying to get TM to love her like Brandon loves Tina. Instead she could be doing some deep work on her behavior patterns.

I dunno. Jen seems fine to me. Trips to NYC and Nashville, girlfriend weekends, spring cleaning, podcasts, bookclub, and she’s still riding the cookbook publicly.

Aside from her seeing her "friends", I'm not sure any of those things are filling her with joy right now. Book club, podcasts, cookbook are jobs that pay the bills. I doubt she's traveling THAT much. Just back and forth for work and for a booty call. I mean, if I had an empty house and a flexible schedule, I'd go on a kick ass solo vacation out of the country for 2 or 3 weeks. Why can't she do a pop in and visit Remy along the way?

Cookbook publicity. Haha. You mean the one with the book tour and pics showed how empty the place was?

Only her fan girls and snarkies even know it exists.

I know that someone on here called her cookbook a labor of love but I just don't see it that way. It seems like the project she invested in least personally and was a bit of a money grab. When I think of food and recipes, I definitely don't think Jen Hatmaker. I associate her with eating chips and dip and meat and cheese and would assume that's what the entirety of her book would be. How many dips can you make to dip chips? Or gross Super Bowl food. She doesn't seem to have a sophisticated palate.

I have the book and this is a good description. It's junk food with a twist and def not sophisticated. It's comfort food and filled with obnoxious stories.

Yep, money grab. No one makes a huge amount of money on a cookbook unless they’re a famous chef or maybe a celebrity. Which Jen definitely is not.

I think the plan was always to sell the cookbook, and then rake in the big bucks with the book tour.

Jen’s basic problem is she had to be the 100% victim or the 100% winning totally killing it! super girl boss out here skating it hero in all situations. She can’t just exist quietly and privately in her sad moments and joyous moments without making them all some public performative declaration.
That’s no way to live authentically or completely.

Received one as a gift for Christmas. Thumbed through and returned it because of the various stories and the unlikelihood of me making most of those foods…I’m sure it’s all delicious, but most of it was not good for you and a lot of the ingredients are kind of expensive/extra. Really wasn’t the “quick everyday anybody can throw this together” collection that was promised.

Someone in this thread is obsessed with this. No one cares. They're not a public figures. Brandon is a 50 year old man with a sad Linked-in profile and a low (very low) grade famous ex-wife. He's also an addict who is currently doing what addicts do and fawning on his current "high." The Brandon from 10-years ago posted the same types of posts about Jen as he's now doing for Texas Barbie. And Tina is a former NuRsE who married that winner. There is literally nothing to see here.

Well I won’t diss the guy for having a scattered and light work history. Toss in childcare plus #fcukoverworkculture and I do not care at all. But Brandon is doing the same thing as Jen; pretending he’s “whole” rushing into a new relationship. I actually think Tyler being so distant is good for Jen. No risk of a second divorce. Even if he moves in part-time, he’s not marrying her.

Brandon and Tina, statistically have a low chance of lasting. Untreated addiction, known cheater, and second marriage.

How does she not play back videos and at least try to use a filter to change how red she is. it's so so bizarre that no one in her inner circle can be honest and tell her she doesn't look good. go back to brown! i know it's upkeep bc she's prob covering grays but she.looks.suburned and OLD

this seems overly harsh as she has said she has high blood pressure and it’s a pretty common side effect of that medication. Tanning bed red or medication red idk but since the red has been pretty persistent for a while and someone in her circle must have noticed makes me think it’s probably medication.

Yeah seriously. Can we not shame appearance? It’d be like calling for an intervention if we saw her out on 50lbs. It’s rude, arguably misogynistic, unnecessary and none of our business.
