Thanksgiving Break started today, I think we will get announcements Sunday evening.

There’s no way.

Americans have voted cheating, corruption, and cover-ups are completely acceptable-Reid will be just fine.

That is besides the point. Trust in FCPS and Reid has significantly eroded. That matters.

Can someone who actually knows something post on this thread?

Anonymous wrote:The commended student notification issue was nonsense to me manufactures by Asra. Commended is a pretty irrelevant honor and it’s ridiculous that college board didn’t notify students themselves. The administrators had plenty going on with back to in person learning and it was obvious it was an oversight not a “war on merit” as asra tried to argue.

This is a completely different issue. Its clear that fcps has been covering up intentional cheating and has stood by hayfield even when evidence was found. Asra has redeemed herself in my mind.

They are different issues but that’s the point. Can say the National Merit stuff was stupid and ridiculous and unfounded against FCPS or could side with Asra. For Hatfield, can agree or disagree in part or in whole with whatever pieces of they want to, but for both Reid’s pattern of behavior is the same- LACK of transparency, keep her “investigations” internal and private and push back on anyone asking questions. She picks how wants to handle things, ignores rules when wants and then tries to push anyone asking away.

100% agree that trust is gone.

But in all seriousness, no, probably not. Just like you, we’re all here speculating. Anyone who actually “knows something” will be spilling that tea to an actual reporter not on DCUM. Even if someone claims to know something, it’s not verified. The only thing that can happen here is speculation. If you’re looking for breaking news stories, this isn’t really the place.

I'm going to stand behind her....if "men" in power can lie and cover up and still have their job so should she. It can't be one and not the other.

It matters everywhere....it's a trickle down effect. If our leaders are lying and cheating and we are accepting it then it's going to happen on a personal level as well. American have said this is ok-trust has been eroded across the board.

Feel bad for all the players that moved to Hayfield solely for academics and not football, they wasted a good senior skip day to prep for football game their principal didn’t let them play:

Everything is besides the point when all you care about is your feeling/your side winning in that moment. It's not honest. We either demand that all of our institutions and leaders remain lawful and honest or we start allowing ad accepting corruption from local leaders as well.

Michelle Obama once said when they go low, we go high. How can we not have everyone thinking this as a baseline? Sure people can mess up, but to start from the premise of there are other awful people so let’s all be awful?

What's the rock and the hard place? I don't see that at all. In fact, I truly don't understand her motivation. Can someone explain it to me? Why did she go along and put her neck out to defend a bunch of people clearly cheating? What was in it for her? Just why??

Reid was hired not that long ago by a 12-0 Democratic School Board who saw in her someone equally committed to their equity agenda and commitment to progressive values. Do you really think she would put that on the line by challenging a Black principal and a Black coach at a school already known only for its athletic (basketball) rather than athletic success? No, she acted entirely how she thought a progressive White woman woukd act under the circumstances by defending Hayfield and refusing to conduct a real investigation. It is very much the bigotry of low expectations on display.

She needs to resign or be fired. She is a completely incompetent waste of taxpayer money.

BS. She behaved like a closeted white supremacist throughout this entire ordeal. She did no favors for the Black staff or the football team at Hayfield.

So can we all then just agree she has lost complete confidence of entire community. Here we have view she is “ progressive White woman” and that she is awful. Then have view is a “ closeted white supremacist” and is awful. So the one thing all can agree is awful.
Except that progressive and woke is what FFX voters have voted for since 2008. Dems got what they wanted ,“Portland-East”. (Frisch and his “lawn boy” is any example of this. There was some other member that ran on and got elected based on minstral equity, whatever that is.) I am not saying you have to vote R, but look at the candidates you are putting up. Any change has to start at the ballot box.

A lot of gang signs, use of the N word in videos, and tattooed players. Nice representation of FCPS.

Those days are gone....America has continued to go low. So I get it and in 2016 I thought those were powerful words. No longer. And if you voted for lying and corruption you need to take a seat. We are telling our children lying and cheating is ok for the top position in our country but not for the superintendent and staff of FCPS

I'm not so sure. I believe the reporters are tuned into this thread and there have been some nuggets of info. People who know things like to share with whoever will listen...

BTW I think lying and corruption is not ok and should not be what our leaders are known for....but America has spoken and this behavior is ok now. What you are saying the rich powerful white men can do it in our government but the white woman in FCPS should not be able to. It needs to make sense and be applied in all aspects of our country. We don't get to pick and choose when we want to to stand on moral high grounds.

I think it's safe to say I don't think anyone really wants this. I might be wrong but it's 2024 now and identity politics are tired. I'm tired. Can we please get some more sane people in leadership positions within FCPS?
