It’s so weird the alt-right and these super religious people have this weird look in their eyes.

You can tell when somebody is just pretending from moneybecause they don’t have crazy eyes

yep. she comes across very harsh.
There is nothing soft, Jesus-like, submissive wife about her which is weird because that is her message but her persona says she'd cut a bi$%tch in about 5 seconds flat.
I went down a whole Erika Kirk video rabbit trail the other night.

It’ll be interesting to see if she can continue TP. She certainly sounds as divisive as he was.

Erika Kirk vowed in a speech today to continue her husband’s movement and said that “the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry,” USA Today reports.

Said Kirk: “If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you’ve just unleashed across this entire country, and this world. You have no idea the fire you’ve ignited within this wife.”

His audience was young white men who believed in traditional gender roles. I can’t see them embracing her as their new leader.

At least they know who she is presumably. A lot of people (probably older people but there are a lot of those) were not even very aware of Charlie Kirk until this terrible shooting. And that certainly has raised the profile of his platform because there has been so much coverage. Is it sustainable? It seems he was very influential in his sphere but not that well known outside of it.

Drawing attention to footage of his “debates” is probably the worst thing anyone could do for his legacy. Was just chatting with some Boomers who were curious about him and looked up his videos and they walked away shocked and disgusted about disrespectful he was.

And this how you know he was taken out by a variant of himself. No one else was paying attention.

Hmm. Sorry, gravy train will stop:
1.Her husband had some warmth and charisma, she doesn't.
2. Also, the conservative ecosystem wants its males to lead large movements. Women influencers in the conservative sphere, of which there are many, have to fight for a much smaller slice of the pie and usually their followers are other conservative women.

This family is done for now. Maybe in the fullness of time she can marry another male influencer and carry him to success. This appears to be her talent: pushing a husband to lead. I respect that. It's no small feat.

Yes. She's the JD Vance of the pairing. No charisma, no warmth, no likability. Charlie had charisma in spades and just the right amount of good looks that appealed to both men and women, young people and their middle aged mothers.

Are you...blind? Charlie Kirk was hideous, almost deformed.

+1 His wife is beautiful, he wasn’t. His head and face were weird.

So, we are at the place in the discussion where you are criticizing the appearance of someone brutally murdered and the "charisma" of his widow.
DCUM never fails to disappoint in the shallowness of discussion. You people could have learned something from Charlie Kirk.

Look, this is pretty low-level insulting but most of us are not saying this stuff. Why don't you engage with those of us who are talking about his words and ideas.

Didn’t they sponsor a big meeting/convention every year? I’m sure that will continue, but stuff like the super high profile college visits are going to have to stop for now.

Charlie Kirk was 1 of 1. He was whip smart, was fearless, and would take on anyone in debate. He related to the younger crowd. There will never be another Charlie Kirk.
But, if you think this assassination and his death slows down this movement - you couldn't be more wrong.
It will be bigger, louder, stronger, and have more followers than before. You will not silence him. As someone said, his assassination has created a million more Charlie Kirks. The format of the college visits may be different, but they will continue. Just watch.

sorry, David Shuster is not "disgraced" just because he used to work for MSNBC. He also worked for FOX, doesn't that raise his stature?

There is a lot of evidence coming out and it all points to the killer being immersed in a dark gaming world that is highly influenced by the alt-right. The only so-called evidence of left ideology is a clear misinterpretation, given that the reference is obviously to gaming, not to WWII (please, can we listen to the kids who are familiar with his world and stop pretending he was a history scholar?)

If new totally contradictory evidence comes out to show that he was in fact a radical leftist, I for one promise to come back to this thread and say, "I was wrong."

Not a political judgement even if i disagreed with him but when someone passes and you review their life's work and influence, man, that guy was NOT a good one. He did a lot of horrible things. This has nothing to do with his murder just objectively speaking, he was a terrible person who intimidated those who didn't agree with him and purposefully lied to forward his own agenda unashamedly. All of you who are scared or somehow don't want to speak ill of the dead have to be objective enough to judge someone on their merits. He was a creep for sure. Nobody deserves to be murdered in cold blood but that makes him no less a creep when he was around!

I am. And, I am taking time to call out the idiots who choose to criticize and insult others for what they look like or how they appear.

Sure, anything's possible. It's more likely that most will move on to the next performer. Media cycles move fast, and this one's already started to move.

DP, but can't you see the PP is simply meeting the MAGA crowd at the standards they themselves have set? Appearances are extremely important to this administration. It's what matters most in Trumplandia.

One thing he did stand for was free speech.

His raison d’etre was shutting up college professors he didn’t like. That’s where everything else came from.

He was a creep grooming creeps as a grift, it got out of hand as things do.

I love it. And millions of us stand with her. She has been called and has shown more strength and grace than most of us could at a time like this.

Do you feel that way about the Sandyhook parents who were called to show strength and advocate for gun control?

That seems like a reasonable analogy. And you can certainly understand trying to turn your rage over your loss into action. But it's obviously very hard to do. The Sandy Hook parents have struggled to get results for their cause

Yeah but WHAT action is she supposedly showing strength about?

I’m another poster but wanted to chime in here.

I don’t agree with Charlie’s message or how he treated others. I am impressed that his wife is standing up in public to carry on his legacy and hateful message. That is a strong woman.

I hope her and their kids find peace and happiness but not with turning point or the crazy right wing initiatives she is pushing.

I see not liking his views, but what’s wrong with how he treated people?

He perfected the art of respectful disrespect. It was at the core of his act.
