Political Discussion
Yeah but WHAT action is she supposedly showing strength about? |
| I don’t think Turning Points is done completely, but without their main figure, they certainly won’t be putting out as much content anymore. Didn’t they sponsor a big meeting/convention every year? I’m sure that will continue, but stuff like the super high profile college visits are going to have to stop for now. |
It is all about money. They will find a way to continue it. |
I’m another poster but wanted to chime in here. I don’t agree with Charlie’s message or how he treated others. I am impressed that his wife is standing up in public to carry on his legacy and hateful message. That is a strong woman. I hope her and their kids find peace and happiness but not with turning point or the crazy right wing initiatives she is pushing. |
While I knew who Charlie Kirk was, I never paid much attention to him or understood how big his movement was. After watching clips of him debating with college students, he is going to be difficult to replace. He was brilliant in his ability to come back with statistics and information. Agree or disagree, he listened to others and had responses. You might not agree with him, but he was in control of his point of view and likely made a lot of young people think about what they stand for. Some things he supported were common sense. i agree with a lot of what he said--but not all. I recommend listening to some of those debates that he took under challenging circumstances. One thing he did stand for was free speech. |
+1 His wife is beautiful, he wasn’t. His head and face were weird. |

Here is a TikTok by someone who explained it as best as he can. The shooter was an gen z online troll come to life.

Well played |
| He went to college campuses for the same reason that Scientology has a presence on college campuses. |

Three hundred and twenty pages on a man whose views were ananthema to most of us. Below are his views that, quite frankly, are frightening.

He did agree with free speech. And what happened to him is horrific. He was only brilliant when debating below average college students. Try looking some debates with smart kids and he's not so brilliant. I am not saying this to be mean. Ben Shapiro comes across as someone articulate with quick processing speed. Charlie Kirk only looks brilliant next to the most mediocre interlocutors. |
So, we are at the place in the discussion where you are criticizing the appearance of someone brutally murdered and the "charisma" of his widow. DCUM never fails to disappoint in the shallowness of discussion. You people could have learned something from Charlie Kirk. |
I would hope a grown man of 30+ years might have a better grasp of information than a college student. And, what a shock it will be to his kids, who learn the truth when they explore the context of their dad’s death. |
I think that this is all very good an accurate analysis about this hostile and strange virtual world that this generation grew up in. His analysis is important and seems right on - except for his premise. He says: TR is not alt-right or extreme left, but then goes on to describe the internet ecosystem where every single influence is an individual or group that is extreme right wing. So while he may be correct that the shooter's motivations are not be exactly political in a way that most adults can understand, the world that shaped the shooter was. And it was most definitively alt-right! |
