He's like the guy who steals your parking spot while you're right there with the blinker on or takes the last item from a bin that you're standing in front of. Terrible behavior to model for his son. What a jerk. I'd be disgusted and pissed off too if I were her. We need less people like him in society.

I’m assuming you have never been to a baseball game

So it's like a free for all to get the ball?

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. There’s no dibs, there’s no “it was coming right at me so it’s mine” illogic. It’s whoever can get to it. And yes people run. What rock do you live under?

Wait, he RAN?! My god, this changes everything!! And the ball went straight to her you say?? I can’t believe this. When the batter hit the ball, I actually think he said “ this one’s for you and only you Karen!! Hey! Why is EVERYONE ELSE trying to get Karen’s ball?! Back away!! That’s HER BALL!!!”

If it went straight to her she would have caught it nimrod.

It was going straight to her. It was her lucky day. He had to ruin it with his selfish sprinting to get it from someone else instead of saying, "Hey, lucky you!" He had to be like, god wanted me to have it -- he just made a mistake in getting it to me. Jerk.

You do realize she was surrounded by other people right? Like she wasn’t in this section by herself. So it was going straight toward… all of them. And then he RAN to get it because she was too slow. Too bad so sad.

This sums up what sucked about his behavior.

It is SUCH a stretch to try to make the Dad out to be the jerk. Give me a break. It was his son's birthday and I'm sure he thought it would be very special to catch a ball for his kid to bring home. Who would begrudge him that? That ball has no value other than the sentimental value. And it is absolutely a first-come, first-serve situation! Any mature adult would have seen where he was going with it and been like "oh good--it's for his kid" and felt pretty good about the whole situation. She behaved badly.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, I completely agree that the online harassment and doxxing has become a terrifying cultural phenomenon and no one deserves it. But if you generally behave like a normal, respectful human being, it is unlikely to happen to you.

Well, yeah. It’s a ball. He gave it to her you do recall, so not only is she horrible, she’s also a sore winner, like you all defending her. She then flipped everyone off. But let’s focus on him.

What? Didn't look like it went straight to her. They both had to run for it, and he swiped it.

Because it didn’t go straight to her. That’s why it didn’t look like it.

These posters who think that the trajectory of a home run ball selects the rightful owner, like the wand chooses the wizard in Harry Potter, just don’t understand that people in the stands jockeying for a home run ball is a normal and expected part of attending a MLB game.

Classy, normal women don't flip off a crowd and demand a ball back from a ten year old. This woman is rough and rude.
