Guys, let's be clear: JD Vance didn't have sex with his couch!

I mean, it isn't.

But if he wanted to take a live and let live stance, who would care? It's the strange fixation on punishing others while he flirts with the camera in his thigh highs and platinum wig. That's the perverse part.

Yale has a very, very famous rep of being full of closeted gay male students.

Which, again, would be *fine* if "JD" wasn't part of a group that's very focused on regulating people's sexuality.

More to the point, they spent a year or so suggesting that anyone in drag was by definition grooming children, that the existence of men dressing as women for any sort of entertainment was a crime against God.

But they have no comments about JD? Or maybe they do and I just don’t lurk on the dark corners of the web where the GOP base lurks.

Yeah, that's where I (and I suspect most) are at. People should be free to do their own thing. You do you. But it's the outright hypocrisy that's the issue. I have to think that this new picture is going to cost Trump some MAGA votes.

I think the bolded is part of why the "weird" thing has hit the Republicans so hard. Democrats embrace difference and can celebrate weirdness when it's bringing people joy. Republicans value conformity and grim enforcement of social norms. (Also, their brand of "weird" is so often of the joyless, creepy variety.)

A healthy society relies on social norms to function. Otherwise, it devolves into disordered chaos—what we’re experiencing now.

I have voted Dem my whole life. At best, the last few years have been a complete $hit show. It’s getting old.

Nothing was more chaotic than a bunch of mouth breathers descending on the Capitol and beating police officers on January 6 2021, and they weren’t Democrats.

I agree it was terrible, though how many other violent protests have ensured since?

And of those, how many were brought by the Dems/Progressives? Sorry to shake your narrative, but increasingly, it’s mostly Dems who are violent. The tables have turned.

Criminals and vandals busting stuff up in the wake of mass protests isn't desirable, but it's pretty traditional and normal. Violently attempting to overthrow our government after losing an election is unique.

Or look at it another way. The Dems sacrificed women’s rights in exchange for niche causes.

Had they been cared one bit, we wouldn’t be talking about winning back abortion. Decrepit Ginsburg would have been switched out with a capable replacement and the beat would have gone on. Instead, undisciplined Dems are getting the nation lots of things we never needed, in exchange for the things we did.

Effing round of applause for the lost cause left! Dip$hit nation, here we come.

What? You think the six people who voted to take reproductive rights away from individuals and leave them to the discretion of state legislators were Democrats? You think the state legislators who have used that discretion to prevent women from making reproductive decisions were Democrats? Place the blame with the people who deserve it most.

You broke it, you bought it, GOP. This was the whole SCOTUS plan all along.

But when should she have retired? Mitch sat in Garland's nomination for a year because he thought Obama shouldn't get to pick that that slot in an election year but got Amy Coney Barrett nominated in a month to help trump.

And if they hadn't gotten there supreme Court justices I don't think the Republicans would have conceded after January 6th. Trump was just a useful tool for them.

Bump. Just think this should be relevant until the election

Well, not so sure I agree. Yes, Vance has had mastubatory contact with couches. It's embarrassing, true, but is it a dealbreaker for voters?

Uh ya. I would say it sways my opinion…

I agree that Vance’s masturbation (“humping," would that be the word?) with couches is pretty gross, but does it really affect his political viability? Thoughts?

Completely agree. The Democrats care more about trans men than straight women. Even one of my ultra liberal pro Palestine, protest attending friends is like why do they focus on that so much. This is why I am not voting Democrat in the foreseeable future. They have left mean former liberals because has they’ve swung hard left. And Trump is certainly moderate which is why they attack his character, not his policies.

The fact Walz made a couch reference in his first speech shows how low we have fallen. Trump is not classy, but neither are the Democrats.

A couch is incapable of giving consent, so in fact, without having that prior consent, J D Vance actually *raped* his mamaw’s couch. He didn’t merely “have sex with it”.

He’s a rapist.

Vance hasn’t denied it. James Donald Bowman and James David Hamel are also thought to have knowledge of the matter but aren’t talking. Their silence is deafening.

Yes because although we (think we) know Vance hasn’t had relations with a sofa, the joke really highlighted how flipping weird this guy is. Listen to how he talks about women (or, for those pedantic incels who comment here, how he agrees with other people’s words about them): “childless cat ladies” being pointless, post menopausal women are only suitable for childcare, votes should be allocated based on how many children someone has… the man has a breeding fetish, and that’s the most generous possible read of his misogynistic view on the world.

He co-signs everything in Project 2025. He even wrote a book forward (currently being held back as they realized how unpopular the GOP’s Christian nationalism is)!

The man is a couching ducking freak.

I don't know. He may have raped a couch and with ejaculatory event that transpired he killed thousands of potential babies- so he's also a murder.

Every sperm is, indeed, sacred. Just ask the couch.
