She had the hits for the guy and rebounded with him after a long term relationship. Wrote songs about it like she does every other breakup (which is getting old for a 34 year old.) The end.

It wasn’t one month. It was years. Joe was the rebound and cover-up. Keep up.

lol only in your dreams

“He’s so bad but it does it so well”

In case people are still not getting what Matty means to Taylor:

“Just say when, I'd play again
He was my best friend.
I felt more when we played pretend
Than with all the Kens!!
Cause he took me out of my box
Stole my tortured heart…”

And the shelf life of those fantasies has expired
Lost to the lost boys chapter of your life
Forgive me Peter, please know that I tried
To hold onto the days when you were mine
But the woman who sits by the window has turned out the light

You said you were gonna grow up
Then you were gonna come find me
Words from the mouths of babes
promises, oceans deep
But never to keep

My favorite TTPD song and bridge!

+1. She talked with Stevie freaking Nicks about Matty. Some “rebound” that Matty.

Or maybe it’s because Stevie Nicks hates Lindsey Buckingham’s guts.

+1. It’s tragic really. Her dad and Tree basically run a dictatorship. The only way she and Matty would work is if she were willing to sacrifice some of her fame and fandom, which she clearly didn’t want to do in the past decade. In his song/video Part Of The Band, Matty mocks her for this.
When Matty was being crucified by the public last spring, Taylor not only did not address her fans, she didn’t even publicly confirm that they were dating.

I am just not sure how genuine she is and also how much Matty moved on. He lost a lot too, and he suffered terribly last summer and fall. Went from happiest to saddest at his concerts in the span of weeks.

MH was a mess after their breakup last summer. He loves her; there is no other explanation.
My brother was at their Dublin concert in June where Matt covered the song “I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You.” Apparently he was melancholic throughout and wore sunglasses the whole concert to conceal his sad (crying?) eyes.
Some of these Swifties are pretty terrible humans. Vipers in empath’s clothing is right.

I don't know about his love life, but as a singer myself I am so surprised that Matty Healy is this heavy drinker, smoker and user and can still sound so good. I read he was chewing gum in this performance on The Late Show, and he moves a lot on stage, yet his vocals are amazing:

I suspect the drinking/drugs narrative is overblown.
