This thread is eye opening at how many so called democrats support terrorist organization who murder and hate Jewish people because they “stole” land from Palestinians. There are many videos of the horrific results of rocket attacks with both Israeli and Palestinian children as innocent victims.

But I’ve never seen a video of Israelis acting with the level of barbarism and monstrosity as the Palestinians in today’s videos. I’ll never get what I saw out of my head, and I wish I could.

I have been a critic of Israel in the past, but this is far beyond anything I’ve ever seen from Israel before.

So far today, more than 250 Israelis have been killed and another 1400 injured. An untold amount of people - including many women - have been kidnapped and taken hostage by Palestinians. Anyone that saw the videos today of Palestinians desecrating and abusing the naked body of a dead Israeli women will be understandably worried about the fate of those hostages. They are likely to be tortured. Palestinians displayed a venal cruelty that is not often seen in the modern era. Those images will not be forgotten.

What Palestinians did today was to effectively commit national suicide. They will never have a viable, independent country. They are terrorists. When Gaza is destroyed in the months ahead, no one will lament their fate. They chose Hamas. They chose barbarity. They chose stupidity. And they will reap what they sowed. Idiots.

I’ve watched the video a few times trying to figure out whether it was the German tourist or not. I don’t know whether it was, but it doesn’t matter. It’s a ghastly scene that constitutes both a war crime and an exhibition of the basest forms of human behavior.

All of that said, I’m going to stop you when you use it as a rallying cry for genocide.

Countless bodies - civilian and belligerent - were desecrated by our forces and those of our allies in Afghanistan and Iraq. And then some. There is nothing more barbaric than othering and devaluing human lives by calling them “collateral damage”. Or a powerful militarized state leveling whole apartment buildings filled with women and children. Israel will not stop until it has exterminated all that can lay claim to the land, by any means necessary.

Well, you got that right. I think there's little sympathy left for the Gazans or Hamas whatever after today's barbarism. I, for one, have criticized Israel's government plenty of times in the past and abhor the apartheid state that has developed. But today, they've got the greenlight from me to level the place and I'm sure I'm not alone. I also know that plenty of innocents on both sides will suffer from this. If the same number of Palestinians have been killed in ones or twos in multiple separate incidents throughout the course of the year, let me be clear, it's just not the same no matter how much you want to make it. It's like the difference between a 9/11 terrorist attack (vivid, graphic, and intense) with several thousand dying on a single day in NYC and the 400-500 violent deaths NYC experiences each year. The fact that the President in the United States and other world leaders have come out to condemn these attacks due to their intensity and graphic barbarity perfectly illustrates my point. I wouldn't expect this time to be any different. Sorry.

I do not accept your apology. 200 dead are 200 dead. You seem to only value Israelis dead. 200 Palestinians YTD in August of this year. You have no problem with that number. Israel has already started striking back in Gaza killing an additional 200 and wounding 1600 civilians. I guarantee you being blown up by a missile or artillery has the same intensity unless you only think one side’s life are valuable.

I wasn't apologizing. You're also missing the point. It. Does. Not. Matter. That 200 Palestinians may have been killed through various acts of violence, many of which could have been committed by Israelis. That's not what makes the front pages of the BBC, NY Times, WaPO, or the nightly news. You've lost the plot when you ask folks to "both sides" this when we can see videos of dead and tortured civilians being dragged through the streets and other random acts of barbarism. It dehumanizes them and any sympathy they might get from the moderates like me. It doesn't change where the court of public opinion will be on this. Israel has just been a green light to level the place. Just as the U.S. was given the green light to do whatever it pleased after 9/11. Will there be fallout from whatever choice Israel makes, sure.

There is no evidence that Israel has ever displayed the level of barbarism displayed today. War, strikes, rocket attacks, yes. But nothing like this. Which is why the Hamas supporters in this thread can’t produce any videos showing the same level of vicious barbarism from Israelis: the videos don’t exist because Israelis don’t do this.

Unfortunately—and I think it is unfortunate—the outcome of that Hamas barbarity is going to be that Gaza will be leveled. I don’t see another outcome.
