The money in question was deposited in Qatar and has not been touched by Iran. Moreover, if you think the operation was funded in the last month, you are dreaming.

Can you prove that?

Facts from Fox News reporter https://twitter.com/JenGriffinFNC/status/1710735779834593355

Regarding the $6 billion: I spoke to several senior officials who were involved in the unfreezing of the $6 billion to Iran in exchange for 5 US prisoners, some of whom worked under the Trump Administration and are still serving…
Those who are saying that this $6 billion that was part of the American hostage release negotiated by the Biden administration likely fueled the Hamas invasion are missing some key facts….None of the money has been spent yet. It remains in a Qatari bank under US Treasury watch.
The $6 billion was Iranian money for oil sales that was held in a South Korean bank, not U.S. taxpayer money. Under the Trump administration 4 banks worldwide were allowed to hold money from Iranian oil sales to 4 countries, including India, South Korea, and Turkey….
Under the Trump Admin deal that preceded Biden hostage deal, Iran could draw on that money for humanitarian purchases that had to be verified by the US Treasury. The money sat in a S Korean bank because it was held in South Korean won and no international banks would convert would convert the won to dollars for fear of sanctions violations. This was NOT US taxpayer money.

I'm looking for receipts that some was not used, not some article that simply tells us that. We've all been lied to before. It's not like Iran or Qatar are good humanitarians when it comes to Israel.

The US Treasury controls the account and has to approve payments out of it. Iran is under sanctions, which the US enforces, but they are allowed to spend money for humanitarian purposes. Why is this so hard to understand?

This attack by Hamas has been months in the making. The $6B has nothing to do with it. Why is that so hard to understand?

Great speech by Joe.

Joe understands. True story.. one 4th of July Joes neighbors accidentally fired some bottle rockets toward his house.

In all these decades, they have demonstrated no will or capacity to govern effectively for the benefit of the people. Palestinians are despised everywhere in the region - Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia. They have no allies left except the Iranians.

This morning I watched Hamas massacre families in their homes and in their cars. I have seen Israeli women abducted and taken into Gaza. I have seen one Israeli woman, naked, obviously dead, all her limbs broken, being paraded through Gaza in the back of a pick truck as young boys spat on her. This is the hatred that Israelis are confronting.

In the months ahead, Gaza will be destroyed. Thousands of Palestinians are going to die. Palestinians will never be allowed to be in a position where they can cross the border again. Life was already pretty grim in Gaza. And it's going to get a lot grimmer in the decades ahead.

And for what? They have a day to kill Israeli civilians. And they will be paying for it for generations.

Well said.
I think Hamas has underestimated Israel. And, I think they are unaware of what is yet to come.

Yes, I expect Gaza to be leveled. I expect that they'll leave a scorched earth demilitarized zone so that this will never happen again there. It will likely cause a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

I think they are going to expel everyone left in Gaza into Egypt, raze it, and in 5-10 years it will become an Israeli beach/resort area.

I lived in Israel during Protective Edge in 2014. Hid with my family in our bomb shelter. We aren't Jewish we were expats there for a couple of years - our feelings on being bombed by Hamas were complicated, quite frankly. I didn't hate all of Gaza despite having to run to my shelter. I had sympathy for the people in Gaza. I think a lot of secular Israelis did too. They didn't want violence. But as the PP said, the Palestinians have chosen at every turn to make the wrong choice. I think this was the final wrong choice and it's over for Gaza and for any hope of Palestinian existence in Israel.

Oh they chose to have their land taken from them and live in a concentration camp? The only answer is a one state solution with everyone allowed to vote.

The land belonged to Jewish people 2500 years ago.

It was taken from the Jews by Romans/Ottomans…

If you I want to play that game, the Palestinians were occupying Jewish lands first. The Jews just took it back.

So the Native Americans would be in the right kick non-native people out of the US?

Well, they were not he first ones here.

When most of the Native American tribes came to North America, the came from Siberia/Alaska. There were many indigenous tribes here first and many of them were slaughtered.

So not really.

But sure. In an ideal world, native Americans should get more autonomy from the US.

The Jews weren’t the first ones in Israel. Much of the Torah is about how they took over from the tribes that were already there.

Still waiting, I guess.

There are tens of thousands of videos of Palestinian children killed and maimed. Too many to count at this point. I guess we’ll just hear “Hamas started it” as Israel mows the grass.

Right. So find a video of Israelis doing the same thing as what today’s videos show. Apparently there are thousands of similar videos, according to you.

Look, this should be easy based on what you and other Hamas supporters in this thread claim. Unless, of course, you’re just lying.

Prove to me you are right. It should be easy for you to find a similar video of Israelis desecrating the naked corpse of a young Palestinian woman while other Israeli onlookers cheer on. You keep telling me thousands of these videos exist. So produce just one of them.

+1. Are there videos of collateral damage to civilians from Israeli attacks? Sure. I'm you can point to those. But I haven't once ever seen barbarism on display from the Israelis like you've seen in the last 24 hours by the Gazans. Feel free to correct us though if there are.

+1

There are many videos of the horrific results of rocket attacks with both Israeli and Palestinian children as innocent victims.

But I’ve never seen a video of Israelis acting with the level of barbarism and monstrosity as the Palestinians in today’s videos. I’ll never get what I saw out of my head, and I wish I could.

I have been a critic of Israel in the past, but this is far beyond anything I’ve ever seen from Israel before.

There is nothing more barbaric than othering and devaluing human lives by calling them “collateral damage”. Or a powerful militarized state leveling whole apartment buildings filled with women and children. Israel will not stop until it has exterminated all that can lay claim to the land, by any means necessary.

Well, you got that right. I think there's little sympathy left for the Gazans or Hamas whatever after today's barbarism. I, for one, have criticized Israel's government plenty of times in the past and abhor the apartheid state that has developed. But today, they've got the greenlight from me to level the place and I'm sure I'm not alone. I also know that plenty of innocents on both sides will suffer from this. Oh well, that's life for those that FAAFO.

So by your logic with over 200 Palestinians killed this year by Israel, Israel should be leveled?

Nope. And it doesn't have to make sense or be logical. If the same number of Palestinians have been killed in ones or twos in multiple separate incidents throughout the course of the year, let me be clear, it's just not the same no matter how much you want to make it. It's like the difference between a 9/11 terrorist attack (vivid, graphic, and intense) with several thousand dying on a single day in NYC and the 400-500 violent deaths NYC experiences each year. The fact that the President in the United States and other world leaders have come out to condemn these attacks due to their intensity and graphic barbarity perfectly illustrates my point. I wouldn't expect this time to be any different. Sorry.

I do not accept your apology. 200 dead are 200 dead. You seem to only value Israelis dead. 200 Palestinians YTD in August of this year. You have no problem with that number. Israel has already started striking back in Gaza killing an additional 200 and wounding 1600 civilians. I guarantee you being blown up by a missile or artillery has the same intensity unless you only think one side’s life are valuable.

It is time for the US to stop Israel.

Uh no. And right now, the world completely sympathizes with Israel. I wouldn't be surprised if Israel reacts in a similar manner (massive, disproportionate force) to how the U.S. reacted to 9/11. Sorry Palestinians. Gaza is not going to exist except as a burnt-out husk shortly.

The anti-Palestine rhetoric you spew is hateful and frankly disgusting. How can you call yourself and American with this much hate in your heart?

Is this Chapt GPT talking? Because there's nothing anti-Palestinian about what I said. It's not "hateful" or disgusting. I am comparing two vivid acts of terrorism and the response to those acts. I feel sorry for the Palestinians that are about to be caught in the collateral fallout from this. Just like I did with the Afghanis.

And go where exactly? Should they start swimming in the mediterranean? Or he is going to let them into Israel? Gaza is a gigantic prison in the open air, people are trapped there with nowhere to go.

Unfortunately, it is now down to this for both sides: don’t lose this war. I have a notion as to how that will play out.

I wasn't apologizing. You're also missing the point. It. Does. Not. Matter. That 200 Palestinians may have been killed through various acts of violence, many of which could have been committed by Israelis. That's not what makes the front pages of the BBC, NY Times, WaPO, or the nightly news. You've lost the plot when you ask folks to "both sides" this when we can see videos of dead and tortured civilians being dragged through the streets and other random acts of barbarism. It dehumanizes them and any sympathy they might get from the moderates like me. It doesn't change where the court of public opinion will be on this. Israel has just been a green light to level the place. Just as the U.S. was given the green light to do whatever it pleased after 9/11. Will there be fallout from whatever choice Israel makes, sure.

Oh no. They'll just level Gaza block by block and make it uninhabitable. They'll force those living there to become refugee and flee across the border to Egypt and then, to some other country and on their way to Europe. Like what happened in Syria.

That would be ironic, Israel guilty of genocide!
I bet that that will not happen, they would loose all foreign funding
