NJ to teach gender lessons

By the end of fifth grade, students should be able to differentiate between sxual orientation and gnder identity. And by eighth grade, teachers should be developing a plan to promote dignity and respect for all gnder expressions, and students should know the difference between gnders, gnder identity, and sxual orientation. In 12th grade, students will learn about birth control options, diseases, and consent.

The vast majority of parents support quality, inclusive sx education. I think some folks are stirring this up for political advantage and are not being truthful in what they’re saying

Why is gender spelled without an “e”?

It was getting blocked. Not sure why. You could ask Jeff.

My guess, is the trans-activist on this site complained.

Ok. No one is proposing to do that.

Manufactured issue.

It’s in a video specifically linked on the nj.gov education resource website for educational standards.

What age/grade level do you think is appropriate to learn about “flicking the bean” in school?

Upper HS.

Mid terms is going to be lit.

Omg!!! Sexually actively teens learned about masturbation. Better throw democracy out the window.

You people are disgusting.

I dont believe that a vote for the GOP threatens democracy. But the left does, and yet they still choose to aggressively pursue literally talking to school children about masterbation and porn, which is far out of mainstream values for both democrats and republicans. If you believe that the GOP is a threat to democracy, why are you advocating that voters choose between that and having our children subject to perverts at schools? Why not just like, back off that plan?

1) the GOP has been actively trying to overthrow election results. ??

2) It’s 2022. People masturbate. It’s a totally normal thing for teens (and adults) to do. Talking about it to 11th/12th graders is fine. Teaching them how to be safe online is also important. It’s also important to talk to them about sxx, contraception, consent, diseases, etc.

1) elections are sometimes contested. It's not a violation to ask for a recount or seek remedy in the courts. Thats actually part of the process.

2) your view that classrooms should have instruction on masterbation is far outside of mainstream. Its a democracy, so people's voices will be heard.

1) Republicans went way beyond legal and ethical boundaries of contesting an election. Haven’t you been paying attention?

2) NJ and each school district in NJ will decide what is appropriate for their community. You don’t get a say. Teaching sex ed - including masturbation- to 17/18 year olds is totally mainstream. You can opt your own kids out.

You’re delusional if you think it is mainstream for schools to teach kids about masturbation and porn. Schools generally stick to the basics like pregnancy, STD’s, relationships, consent etc. It totally crosses the line for a school to discuss those topics and it’s disturbing you can’t see why that’s the case.

Masturbation should be taught as an option, especially if schools teach abstinence only. It makes sense. Why would anyone oppose it?

Why are you okay with schools teaching about relationships? Isn’t that a subjective topic? What if the teacher is divorced? Promiscuous? Gay? Polyamorous? What if their own ideas bleed into the way they teach about relationships? Are schools supposed to teach kids morals about sex and relationships? Marriage only?

It would be inappropriate for schools to teach any of the above, including abstinence.

This is why people are fleeing from the left, even though the most recent GOP president was deeply unpopular. The progressive left is pushing ideas like this that are alien and repulsive.

+100 You are in a fringe minority if you think parents want teachers discussing masturbation with their kids. It even sounds perverted. A parent can certainly have that discussion with their child but it is completely inappropriate for a school setting. Porn falls into the same category.

If these schools take federal dollars, yes, the PP does get a say, because PP is paying for it.

No, it doesn’t work that way.

Schools need to go back to teaching math and science..

No wonder the US is having its lunch eaten. We produce of a bunch of morons who can barely do math and have 2nd grade understanding of science because we waste so much time, money, and effort in the classroom to confuse kids about their sexuality. Stop wasting time in schools in this stupid crap. If anything, school days should be extended by 3 hours per day, and all of the time spent on math education.

so in 10th grade, hs kids should be told about woman “flicking their bean?”

It’s fine to talk to 11th/12th graders about masturbation. What’s wrong with that? It’s a normal, healthy thing to do. I’d rather have my kids masturbating than having intercourse.

Parents have always been able to opt their kids out of sex ed.

You seriously think 11th and 12th graders should be shown cartoons that depict a young boy masturbating in front of a computer and loudly ejaculating and having an orgasm? In school?

Upper HS.

so in 10th grade, hs kids should be told about woman “flicking their bean?”

In school?

Yes, the pp thinks that. Pp is depraved.

How is that more “depraved” than a condom on banana demonstration?

Frankly, that is inappropriate as well.
