It's global inflation caused by the recovery from COVID and exacerbated by 1) corporate greed and 2) Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

What do you suggest as a solution? The administration had one, but the GOP opposed it. So what do you suggest?

Wow. You have really got those Biden talking points down.
Blame everyone and everything but yourself and your policies.....

Joe could get the US producers of oil to ramp up production. But, he won't. Increasing our gas supply would lower prices on a ton of goods.
Instead, he turns to countries that hate the US to buy more oil, despite the fact that their production is not near as clean as ours.

He could encourage farmers to use more of their land to produce more crops. But, he won't, give the EO he issued....

And, there is still a backlog at the LA port. It has improved, but there are still issues.

So you are for the federalization of the private sector?

It's our government printing money like it goes out of style. First for Covid measures and recovery (some of these "measures" IMHO were a waste of money) and now spending billions to arm Ukraine, later it will be billions to help rebuild Ukraine when nobody else will be paying Ukraine nearly as much. I bet you Russia will pay squat in reparations as their economy is down the toilet, and Europe will pay even less, our taxpayers will be footing that hefty bill. Ukraine has become a money pit for us. I know it's convenient to just blame it all on Russia, but we are dumping money into this war as if Ukraine is our 51st state.

Actually Trump inherited a stagnant economy and eight years of lackluster GDP growth and high unemployment.

Trump turned things around and even during a pandemic managed to keep the economy on track.

Fact is under Trump:
Low fuel costs
Low energy cost
Low cost of commodities
No wars

Under Biden:
Skyrocketing fuel costs
Skyrocketing energy costs
Skyrocketing good prices
Skyrocketing inflation
Russian invades Ukraine
Iran attacks US embassy with rockets
OPEC dumbs US
China makes moves to trade oil with Yuan instead of petro-dollar
No answer ti Russian cyber-attacks.

It’s about the economy stupid as Carville said in the past. While costal elites buy Tesla’s and the white house appeals to TikTok “stars” to get people to secure more propaganda for their failed policies, most Americans are suffering and wondering if they should fill their gas tanks or out food on the table. If they complain they’re told to suck it up for a country thousands of miles away that no one cares about who honestly has a Nazi problem. Or their called Russian bots as that’s the new defacto “insult” now.

But the coastal elites are like the people of district 1 on the hunger games; they look down on the very people who supply them with the food and goods they use every day. While those people suffer they elected ramble on about “it’s worth it”. What a joke

I agree, it's been nothing but a runaway train, and it's only getting worse. We are constantly threatened now, insane inflation, devaluation of our savings, rising costs for all the basic necessities, and now we add nuclear war threat to this and our president is talking about cyber attacks. I don't know who in their right mind thinks what we have now is awesome and that our future is bright. And tons of people aren't as glassy eyed about this horrible war in Ukraine, many are questioning and for all the good reasons.

You folks are great at casting stones, whether they are truthful or not. But let's say for the sake of argument I agree with you, what is the GOP proposal?

I'll save you the effort: there is not one. There never is. McConnell admitted as much for the midterms and said there would be no real platform, only a promise of revenge. Real nice from the party of family values.

Still waiting for an answer to this . . .

How to stop a runaway train? IDK, how about build some breaks, but I suppose that time for this has passed and we are f-ed. We have no control over what we already spent and the money we printed. All we can do is try to be more conservative about spending in the future.

Not at all. These do not need to be federalized.
An "operation warp speed" of sorts.
The regulations that the feds have put in place are slowing things down. And, Biden's EO's.

If operation warp speed wasn’t done we wouldn’t have had the vaccine that liberals love.

I remember when it came out democrats were against the vaccine, then when January 2021 came around we literally had them change their talking points.

Bidenomics and the shutdown of the economy didn’t help. Inflation took off and there was no response from the administration.

Trump shut down the economy. That was under his watch.
The Pfizer vaccine wasn’t operation warp speed.
Democrats have never at any time been against a tested and vetted vaccine. No one wanted a shot that Trump pushed through solely for his political expedience. All his big talk about demanding drugs being approved on his schedule undermined confidence in anyone with critical thinking skills.

MANDATES introduced by democratic governments is what undermined confidence in anyone with critical thinking skills. If you don't understand the harm that indiscriminatory mandates have caused to ruin our trust in many health institutions and local governments (and federal government - hello botched OSHA mandates) then you need to work on your own critical thinking skills. Vaccine was released whenever it was released, many of us were skeptical, INCLUDING Kamala Harris who spoke about being cautious to take such a rushed medical intervention. But there were millions eagerly waiting for it, especially those high risk and those with anxiety who just couldn't move on with out it. These people consented to take this intervention and were happy with having received it. Had we stopped right there and focused on making high risk groups vulnerable (eldery, obese, those with specific pre-existing conditions) we would have gotten more of them vaxed and it wouldn't have been so politicized to the point where it caused a major rift in our social fabric. But democrats decided to push collectivist agenda where we should feel good submitting our bodies to whatever needs to be injected for the "greater good" and because it's good for us. Whoever was skeptical at that point became even more skeptical.

Anyone with critical thinking skills knows that the vaccine is safe. There are reams of evidence to support that conclusion. But, I appreciate your admission in that incoherent word salad of yours that you just don't like being told to do your part in helping the country get over this. How pathetic. I hope your fee-fees heal one day. These must be trying times for you.

You've made the point better than I ever could. You (and the GOP) have no plan. No solution.
Thanks for admitting it, at least.

No one has mandated I be vaccinated. I have had a choice.
Everyone has a choice.

Can I please join you in your bunker where you had been hiding from reality? Tons of people were coerced and even fired for not getting vaccinated. Medical workers, federal employees and contractors, city and local government workers in big democrat run cities, transportation employees were all under mandates. Even if these mandates were disputed at some point in some states, people still got strong armed into taking the shots because of the threat of not only losing a job but losing your entire career. General population of democrat run cities were coerced with vaccine passports and excluded from most public indoor life. In places like NYC there are STILL All Private Employer vax mandates for any size small business of any industry, practically prohibiting anyone unvaxed from being able to work in NYC unless they qualify for hard to get exemptions or have lenient company not enforcing it where they can fly under the radar. In NYC, and I think also in SF there were vaxxports for little kids 5+ for whom the vax is still EUA to play sports, attend any childhood activity, dine indoors with their vaxed parents, attend bday parties in kid venues, etc.

Please tell me now that I am lying and NONE of this happened or is happening and that everyone had a choice.

Operation Warp Speed had NOTHING to do with getting the Pfizer vaccine tested and into the system. It was vaporware of government speak. A PR stunt.

You have the right to change jobs if your employer is trying to mandate something. You have the right to order from Amazon and have things delivered if you aren't willing to be vaccinated to protect front line workers at a grocery store.

Were you this concerned about it when Trump was president and the unfinded tax bill exploded debt and deficit spending? Because most of the GOP sure didn't care. At least when the Dems do it, there is some societal benefit, like healthcare or infrastructure.
