Biden’s economy

Anonymous
Consumer spending UP, consumer confidence in economy is DOWN. Why? We are constantly being told - through Fox or even main stream media - that “the economy is in peril!!!!“

If people did not feel that they were doing well, spending would not be up. Most people have no idea what the economy even is (unless youre Paul Krugman or some other economist.) Yes prices are up but guess what else is up? people are taking vacations, purchasing non essentials, Do you know the stuff that you only purchase once you’re basic needs are met.so complain about milk prices but people are buying stuff.

but seriously: by all accounts biden is doing a good job, people's lives are better than they were a year ago, the economy looks much stronger than would have been expected given everything. why does it seem like we get nothing but dismal takes on how things are going for biden and for dems? is it just, news gonna news - electorate gonna electorate? are dems just doing a terrible job actually talking about things that are going well? is this the inevitable filter of covid not being over and everyone being stressed and worried still?

So. Much. This.

And I’d argue we did elect a stuffed animal.

Would a stuffed animal have borrowed $2 Trillion dollars, pumped it into an already growing economy, and sent inflation to a multi decade high? Would a stuffed animal go around and babble about spending trillions more dollars to Build Back Better?

Not a stuffed animal.
A puppet. For the far left.

I laugh my tuchus off every time I read something like this.

Do you honestly believe that Biden is a puppet for the far left? Seriously? Or is this just the latest bad faith talking point?

If Biden's a puppet of the far left, where is the executive order forgiving student debt? Where's the Supreme Court packing? Where's the nationwide mask and vaccine mandate? Where's the withdrawal of support for Israel? Where's the increase in visas and refugee resettlement?

All we've gotten is a very watered down infrastructure bill, and a relief package that Republicans all voted against but still touted the benefits to their constituents. What in the everliving hell is far left about Biden's presidency?

Don't forget passing the largest military budget ever. Look at this loony leftie Biden! What's more far left than perpetuating the military industrial complex?!

Not completely. The graph you linked to shows pretty clearly that inflation in the past few months has a steeper slope than the wage increase.

And by "steeper slope" you mean the lines are parallel

Doesn't capture the huge increase in 1099 and gig work that started during the pandemic.

What are the "far left" or fringe policies Biden is trying to impose on the country?

From what I have seen, the proposals are moderate by European stadnards and carry a 65%+ favorability from the American public.

It's not like, you know, subjecting women to be incubators or force people into federal support of Christianity.

From that leftist pinko...

(sarcasm)

It just cracks me up to see all of the Biden detractors complaining about what a disaster this presidency has been. No, sorry folks, the disaster was the last 4 years. It will take more than the 10 months so far that Biden has had to get from under what Trump and the GOP have left, but at least we are on the right track now.

It’s particularly hilarious when you remember what TFG was saying would happen if Biden won. Remember this one? “ “If he gets in, you will have a depression the likes of which you’ve never seen. Your 401(k)s will go to hell and it’ll be a very, very sad day for this country.” Ha! My 401k is way up and this is the best economy in my adult life.

By whose account? I think he has done a horrible job. We do many others. Borrowed and spent $2 trillion to create multi decade record inflation.

By data and facts. What was that saying? Duck your feelings.
